The question is why?

Just a final thought on the idiocy that passes for wisdom in today's world.

This is out of a Newsmax story on the present unpleasantries in Lebanon.

"While Hezbollah's actions are deplorable, and Israel has a right to defend itself, the excessive use of force is to be condemned," he told the Security Council. Israel must make "a far greater and more credible effort ... to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure," [Kofi Annan] said."

The only question is why? Why on earth, in the middle of war, would Israel show forbearance. Derrick freakin Zoolander knows that if your enemy puts a mobile rocket launcher in someone's back yard then the people who put the launcher there are responsible for what happens when those other people, at whom the rocket launcher was fired, try to destroy the rocket launcher. Israel has to destroy the people who say they want to wipe Israel off the map before the savages really can execute their well publicized genocide.

Earth to Kofi-here's the difference-the Hizbollah guys, well, they're firing at Iraeli civilians, another inconvenient problem with the moral equivacation on this issue, while Lebanese civilian casualites are an unfortunate collateral cost of war. The Israelis are telling the civilians to leave. I'd be down on Hizbollah if I were a Lebanese citizen.
Hey, we all wish the Middle East problems could be solved with a walk off, but there really is a war so I say, lets get on with it and get it over with. So, go Israel. There is one rats nest that some one is willing to clean.!

I always love when anyone is critical of Israel. Let me see, Syria declared war on them what 40 years ago, Iran declared they needed to wiped off the face of the earth. I am so tired of people being critical of people defending themselves. During WWII, the US fire bombed Japan, 100K civillians were killed in one night. That was the price of war. I wonder what CNN would have reported that night. As far as the right winger is concerned, Israel has the right to do what it wants to win the war they are in. I for one am pleased they have the balls to simply do what needs to be done, and they don't care what anyone else thinks. It is amazing that one can engage in war, kick ass, and not care what the New York Times, or other lefties think of the lack of international support of nation building efforts.

Loras is so right. The Islamicists are at war with us so we'd better start fighting harder before they get better weapons and smarter leadership.
