Grant Young, for the blogging hall of fame!

Great format, but let's be real: the only reason the Youngster picks Helland is because they worked together on the McCain campaign. Most of us who live in the district know Al because he is involved in the community. Tomenga isn't the only one who supports him:Gov.Ray, former Rep Kent Kramer, Johnston School Board member Julie Summa, ABI, etc.all support Lorenezen. The lies and negativity of the Helland camp is just more business as usual for ITR.

Yea, yea...
Didn't I say it was a collaboration?

I had to laugh when Erik responded to the Register's inquiry about his negative ads by saying, " The Friends of Helland approved and paid for the ad." Ha! The only "friend" Helland seems to have is ITR and the $7ok they dumped into his race. While comparing websites, it was interesting to me the variety of civic activities Lorenzen is involved in versus Erik. I'd like a Representative who cares about the district he lives in by actually being involved. Vote Lorenzen today!

I think if you notice on the reports if you take away ever ITR dollar Helland still out raises Lorenzen.

Al seems like a nice enough guy, but I'll take a guy who has been a conservative his whole life vs. a recent convert... a known quantity vs. a potential unknown. Involvement in the rotary doesn't necessarily equal the desire to stand up Gov. Gronstal and his Democrat cohorts.

ITR "business as usual" equals:

*winning

*supporting fiscal conservatives

*telling the truth about liberals like Walt Tomenga and Al Lorenzen

*remaining loyal to those who are loyal to Iowa taxpayers

*laughing at those who find ITR/the taxpayers of Iowa a "special interest"

*never asking for any more taxpayer dollars or for more government spending

TO A LIBERAL, THAT IS BUSINESS AS USUAL YOU WON'T LIKE!

I'm on my way to vote for Al...he may not be a puppet of ITR, but he is a conservative backed by business groups and social conservatives.

so I guess all those ag industries and farmers aren't businesses.

AFSCME poured 20 times as much support behind Al as ABI.

If AFSCME is willing to invest that much to beat Helland then there is something they don't want, and if a Union pushing for repeal of right to work doesn't want Helland....then I want Helland to represent me.

Helland has more support from business.
Helland has more support from conservatives.
Helland has lived here longer.
Helland came to my door 3 times...once in a snow storm.
and to top it off...

I have a bumper sticker on my car that has been republican longer than AL (Lamberti for congress...thats '06).

Game. Set. Match.

Hello Conservative leadership for HD 69...we have waited long enough.

AFSCME supported Northey in '06...is he the poster boy for liberals?

ABI is very pro business and they support Al....Oh and didn't FB support SILO??

$1500 to Al does not amount to much vs the $70k ITR has given Helland. And more of Al's money comes from within the district.

Scott Raecker also supports Lorenzen...is he a crazy liberal now, too?!

The R party is losing in Iowa because of the meanspirited antics of groups like ITR. I hope Al wins and brings a fresh voice to Des Moines. And if Helland does win, maybe he can actually get involved in the community? You know, show up for more than election season....

I'm voting for Helland.

My 4 year old has beagle has been a Republican longer than Al.

NEXT!

if you are going to come on a political blog and yak...learn how to read a disclosure report. AFSCME in kinded the signs ($3,800) total of about $5200 or about %25 add knapps and other liberals and you are looking at 30% of support from ultra liberal groups. The R party is loosing because of people like Walt and Raecker.
When R's act like R's R's win....acting like an R includes being registered as one...prior to last year....come to think of it Al has never voted in a Republican primary...hahahahha

Yawn.

R's lose because people like me get sick of the same old same old...ITR, ICA, and Victory Enterprises running the state.

I know Lorenzen is Director of Sports for the Des Moines CVB; what does Helland do?

Anonymous said...

According to the paper Helland works for a Bank and farms.

Don't automatically assume ABI is republican OR conservative anymore. Ever since that red haired guy took over who later was fired, the group turned into a group chasing corporate welfare, and loved eminent domain. They became as Lib as the Chamber did.

They quit being an organization who cared about low taxes. So, they can kiss my ass.

As far as the "r" endorsements for Al, those people belong to the Joy Corning/Yepsen wing of the party. Pro abortion, pro eminent domain, pro corporate welfare, pro gambling, pro sales tax increase for our better "destiny".

They ain't real either, so they can all kiss my 1970's ass too. They are living in Timewarp City.

I am finally able to support someone in my district that I can be excited about. Last time around I could barely tell the difference between Tomenga and his democratic opponent. Having his endorsement is not doing Al any good in this household.

Looks like Helland may win...well at least he'll have a paycheck now. Wonder if he'll be able to pull his lips off Jr's ass to say thanks to the voters?

Kent said...

Looks like a win according to the Register:
State House District 69 - GOP
16 of 16 (100%) precincts reporting
X Erik Helland 1,098 73.4%
Al Lorenzen 397 26.6%

Congrats Erik.

I assume from the pointless incoherence and paranoia your comment displays that you were up all night free basing and drinking mohitos.

If not please, not for my sake but for yours, call your counselor today and tell them that your rage disorder is causing you problems again.
