Hero of the Week

This week's first annual Sunday - Hero of the Week - award is a no brainer-Des Moines City Councilwoman Christine Hensley (who is technically a heroine).

Christine was the first, and ultimately only council member to openly address the Polk County Democrat Machine and take on Archie. When the rest of the Council were looking for stone and mortar, or at the very least looking for cover and Democrat Mayor Frank Cownie was reappoiniting Democrat Tom Vlasis to yet another board (with or without credit card powers) Christine was publicly acknowledging the collapse in public confidence in the institutions of municipal and county government.

This courage comes with a price. Christine will be the Machine's No. 1 electoral target. In spite of that knowledge Christine fought the good fight and is, at this point, winning.

Keep on doing the right thing Councilwoman Hensley!

Great job with Crawford on Sunday. Finally time someone didn't cut them off with all the drive by media distortion.

Ok...but who is Mike Mahaffey? I've never heard of him.

mahaffey is a former state chairman. the fact that he is still one of our primary in state spokesman says and regular republican bloggers haven't heard of him says it all, doesn't it?
