How to know what not to do.

How utterly appropos’ that on the same day that Iranian President Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad again reiterates the Iranian intention to exterminate Israel, which I presume is just the first step in reestablishing Islamic purity in the Middle East, ex-President Jimmy Carter reminds us all of how he became the most repudiated American President in history.

President Carter has once again entered the debate on America’s Iran policy. I’m sure all of the Real Sporer’s generational contemporaries and seniors remember President Carter’s last foray into American/Iranian affairs-I think it’s still called the “Hostage Crises”-but it was so much more.

Of all the mistakes in dealing with Islamofascism the United States has made in the past thirty years, perhaps the most egregious and significant, was the indecision and cowardice displayed by President Carter in dealing with the totalitarian revolution in Iran. Let us not forget that President Carter’s failure to support the Shah’s western style authoritarian Iranian monarchy, or the parliamentary democracy of sorts that immediately succeeded the Shah, against the Islamofascist revolutionaries has produced total Islamic state that is modern Iran, just as the mullahs said they would do way back in 1978.

Let us not forget the entire Iranian state has been devoted to the spread of the nightmarish vision of genocide and global dominance through terror and economic extortion to which the Ayatollah Khomeini pledged Iran some 28 years ago-during President Carter’s Administration. Rather than confronting this monstrosity when we had overwhelming military superiority, President Carter sought to “understand” the grievances of the Iranian people against our ally, the Shah. President Carter sought “dialogue” that would allow us to “avoid bloodshed” in resolving those grievances.

Now, the world has been awash in the bloodshed produced by the Iranian Islamofascist state and the terror and oppression it has spawned and succored. Such is Jimmy Carter’s legacy to the world, the death of millions. That’s also how you lose 45 states when seeking reelection.

Negotiating with Iran and Syria is like Neville Chamberlain and the even more craven French leadership negotiating with Hitler in 1937-1939, selling out their ally Czechoslovakia . Just as Hitler made his intentions clear as early as 1922, the monster Ahmadinejad has made his intentions just as clear, and what reason is there to disbelieve him?

What could be gained by such negotiations? The “exit strategy” that Neville Chamberlain pursued with Hitler, as the Nazis swallowed entire nations, perhaps? Maybe if we just delay the confrontation until the Iranians have nukes we will have an excuse to compel either a second Exodus or a second Holocaust as Iranian policy reaches fruition, and we sell out our ally Israel.

Every American high school student should be compelled to write an essay on Churchill’s “The Gathering Storm” as a precondition of graduation. And so should President Carter.

Let's not forget Iraq would not have attacked Iran if not for the threat of radical Islam from Iran. Iran and the world by extension would have been safer if we'd supported the moderate regime of the Shah but hey, Carter knows it all! Sure, things are much better as a result of his meddling in Iran resulting in a new radical regime in 1979.

If the "leader" of Iran is such a threat, then take him out!!!!!

Put a bullet in his head (preferably a bullet soaked in pork guts) and call it a day.

Blackjack Pershing handled the Muslim insurrection in the Philippines the same way and remained under docile control for about 50 years after.

It is worth considering!

"Negotiating with Iran and Syria is like Neville Chamberlain and the even more craven French leadership negotiating with Hitler in 1937-1939, selling out their ally Czechoslovakia."

So how was Reagan negotiating and engaging with the "evil empire" different? From what I hear, quite a few R's and conservatives are calling for engagement with Iran.

I'm a history fanatic and I read, "The Gathering Storm" when I was 17 but that was of my own accord!

Yes, make them read Storm, and instead of the current history books make them read Churchill's, "History of the English Speaking Peoples." That'll cure the self-loathing America-haters!

There is even an HBO movie that Republicans would and should like. I think Republicans should make a Hollywood version for propaganda purposes.

Adding to that, I'm not surprised there are so many American students who hate the West! You get an emphasis on all the theoretically rotten things we have done (As if the Indians didn't deserve what they got?) and if you come from an ambivalent family, of course kids are going to become self-loathing Americans who don't trust the U.S.A. Just like self-loathing Jews: I don't think the kiddies are to blame, it's the fraudulent myths taught by academia that poisons their young, undeveloped minds.

rf: I'm sure you'll agree with me that negotiation with our enemies is not always a dirty word. I'm sure the Conservatives of the 80's thought Reagan was selling out because he talked to the Soviets.

The problem with negotiation is you cannot surrender your principles before the negotiation begins! This is what Chamberlain and Carter do. Liberals never learn from the following examples, and this is why their negotiations with our enemies fail:

"If you give me the Sudetenland, I will give you peace in our time."

"If you give me a piece of Israel, we'll give you peace."

"If you give me these goals, we will let the hostages go."

On the contrary, Reagan's negotiations were: "This is what we're doing. We're building S.D.I." p.s. "Tear down your wall!"

Bush's negotiation style: "Wanted: dead or alive!"

Churchill and Grant's negotations: "Unconditional surrender."

See what I mean???

Chad,

Good points. Surely negotiation style matters.

One interesting news item that escaped a lot of notice prior to the election was the issue about Iran restricting internet download speeds in an effort to protect themselves/their culture. In the end, we could be achieving much better results in the Middle East if we just subsidized broadband infrastructure wherever we can. In the end, our ideology is much stronger and it will prevail - just like against the Soviets. Of course, we need to carry a big stick too. But this is going to be a long fight, and I suspect our superior ideology is our best weapon. Especially if we want lasting change.

BTW, not all of us critical thinkers hate America. Not being critical of yourself is the surest way to go into decline.

With such a name it appears “imitation may be the highest form of flattery” but I am sure Ted would prefer a better body part. Yet, since we also know the “affection” the lily lefties feel about sphincters it makes me wonder if this antagonist is romantically interested in Ted. I am not worried because Ted is not in the habit of drinking anything that might have the date rape drug around Democrats knowing their proclivities and all.

As to the claim Mohammed and Ken are macho Rambo types perhaps Sphincter boy should notice Mohammed and I’ve had many disagreements and we have found common ground on problems with Islam. I have dear friends that are Muslim and I find them to be fantastic people but certainly not because they are Muslim. My friends are decent in spite of Islam and I’ve spent most of the last five years of my life in the Middle East. Islam has profound problems and can become a radical world wide problem if certain elements achieve their goals.

No other religion will glorify the killing of innocent people as those practicing radical Islam and to allow those people to win is nothing short of insanity and genocide. The world is at the crossroads and if moderate and thinking Muslims want to stop the world wide carnage they need to stand up and be counted on the side of good. Those praising suicide bombers and supporting terrorism should be shouted down by their fellow Muslims but instead there seems to be a lot of silence as well as support.

Any pro-Thatcher, hard core conservative who sees Liberation Theology as a sick heresy scratches me right where I itch! His Nixon summary is right on the money as well!!!

Interestingly, Iran's parliament indicates they want their whacko president out one year earlier than his normal term. Perhaps they don't like the idea of trading nukes with Israel as much as he does.

Dear Kervorka and the Boys in the Band;

So I take it that you believe that America should overthrow any freely elected government that we don't approve? Though historically we have used it quite a bit. It was my impression that the GOP expressly disapproves of Nation Building.

I was giving Ken and The pedophile a method of following through with their sterling advice. If they won't do the job themselves then don't strut around pretending to be a storm trooper or a double naught secret agent. I am sure that Halliburton still needs soldiers of fortune, Er mercenarys er, hired goons, er contractors!
it is our interference in other countries affairs that have got us where we are. Remember, the Shah didn't exist until we created the royal linage. Remember the saudi royal family didn't exist until the British created them. Remember, Kuwait was always a part of Iraq until the oil companies created it. In fact, iraq has a better claim to Kuwait than Israel's claim to jerusalem.

Ken, i usually find your postings to be well reasoned. I am glad that some of your dearest friends are Muslim .. I am sure you have shown them all of your prejudices and they love you for your honesty.

pedophile, I just bet that you would tell it to their faces. if the Muslims ever found their way to your mom's basement. can't wait to see your face on NBC's Dateline ' To catch a predator series.

ConservativeKen said...

Actually, they spent a lot of trying trying to convert me to Islam when I was with them in Afghanistan. In Iraq I don't have near the tea drinking time I had nor do I have routine access to Iraqis on that level. Although, I speak with Iraqis everyday and it always hurts when they tell me of tragedies they or those around them endure. They are good people but radical islam and outright crime from lawlessness are tearing them apart.

This experience has strengthened my belief in Christ and given a new understanding to the Old Testament. The children of Ishmail are devout but mostly to the wrong god. They have a history and live it as if 1000 years ago is the present. I am very impressed with them on many levels. Also, thinking Muslims and legitimate scholars don't advocate the terror we face today.

I only wish reason would prevail and all Muslims would reject terrorism. This is absolutely essential or the world will fall into chaos once a few unstable types get nukes because they will use them!

We can't turn away from this problem and the entire world needs to face it or we perish together. King Abdullah (Jordan) is doing everything in his power to warn the world of the gathering storm. We should listen to him.

pedophile, I just bet that you would tell it to their faces.

They didn't like being called "goatfucking diaperheads." They especially hated it when I told them their "religion" was, in fact, a death cult that got out of control.

I am sure that Halliburton still needs soldiers of fortune, Er mercenarys er, hired goons, er contractors!

The leftist claptrap never ceases.

There are three companies in the world that do what Halliburton does:

1. Halliburton
2. Adair Industries
3. An unpronouncable Norwegian firm.

If we contracted with the Norwegian firm, you liberals would bitch about outsourcing, so that option is out.

Adair Industries, while a solid company, does not have the capacity to handle the workload that Halliburton can.

Halliburton was founded in 1948 and has had a no-bid contract with the Imperial Federal Government every year since 1949. The contract is renewed every ten years and the last one to sign the renewal was Clintler (Heil Clintler)!

So I take it that you believe that America should overthrow any freely elected government that we don't approve?

No need to overthrow the whole government, just put a bullet in the heads of Chavez, that goatfucking diaperhead in Iran, a few key Iraqi warlords, and Kim Jong Il.

Have a nice day.

So if Putin decides to poison our leaders because of perceived slights then that would be fine with you guys right?
Chavez a threat? All he has done is be democratically elected by his people twice and survive a coup that was set up by our gov't. Oh that is right he has oil!

Ped I am so sure that you have made those comments to Mulims. So Ped, What does Halliburton do exactly? When I lived in Kansas they were a drilling mud supplier. I know they branched out I just didn't know that mercenary was one of them oh! and suppling the troops with contaminated food and water! My question Mr Molester was Why don't you join them so you can fulfill your fantasy Talk like Patton Walk like John Wayne, Soil your pant like MOPED!

Nope. We're America. We do what we want, when we want.

I don't give a shit about the oil. They guy is an America hating, communist nutjob. We need to find a Pinochet for Venezuela.

ConservativeKen said...

Mohammed's stock is rising fast dealing with this commie lovin leftist.

With rose colored glasses you can ignore about everything wrong the socialists of the world do in the name of "justice" and paint everything we do as "evil." Chavez, coming off his 102% victory just decided the Venezuala press is a little too friendly to the US and wants them shut down. His oil industry is already showing signs of collapse due to mismanagement (he fired all the professionals and replaced them with his friends) and lack of infrastructure repair.

Putin, don't kid yourself butt boy, you know you like him in that warm commie sort of way. You're just trying to distract us with that one.

Halliburton, oh the left loves to bash the one company the Army loves because this company delivers a great service to the military. The Military would not use Halliburton if it were not the case as anyone can underbid and take a piece of business. The only problem is that whenever a company does that they invariably fail and must do cost overruns. In the end, the Army returns to Halliburton to get it done at "Cost Plus." I am not going to further explain the nuances of logistics in a combat zone or government contracting to a butt boy as I suspect he couldn't balance a checkbook!

GW finally goes to Communist Vietnam and you are worried about Chavez. Look little boys, Most of the world hates America and it is because of the type of attiude you project. You are about as Meaningful as all the Militias of fat guys who play soldier in the woods in Michigan trainng for the enemy to invade america. GI Ken, I love your fantasy about your friends in Afghanistan and Iraq, Must of been reading a Tom Clancy novel in your outhouse If you were there they weren't friends they were collaborators, Odds are you were in a Motel in Dearborn Mi. with your doors locked cowering in the bathroom. Molester, first grow a pair then quit torturing little animals then you and GI Boirag can go out admire your little weapons and feel like real men as you light a homeless man on fire, you little wankers!
I have been in the GOP for many years. Too bad it has been infected by mental deficients

Worse than wrong. The reason the rest of the world hates us is because we are better than they are, and they know it. They are blinded by their jealousy.

The Middle East hates us because we don't sew our daughter's cunts up when they are two years old and we actually believe in personal hygene.

Nike Sweat shops,

Damn straight!! They make the best cross trainers. At least I help them pay the bills.

ConservativeKen said...

I doubt butt boy was ever a Republican as he couldn't help reciting tired liberal rants of the US being hated by the world. If that were remotely true why does everyone try to get into our country?

The reference to the Michigan Militia was funny and all but a thinking person would notice all of my posts are in the middle of the night to late morning which could be explained by the 9 hr time difference considering I work for (you guess the company) in Iraq.

Debating butt boy is like debating a stoned HS drop out filled with ideas of Micheal Moore's world view. I suggest butt boy should get out of the US and visit the third world before claiming everybody hates us.

Why do you think the US has the world's ONLY Blue Water Navy? Because most of the world trusts us to do the right thing. Previously, nations competed in this vital area as they did not trust each other and such a navy allows you to police other nations. The nations standing against us stand for radical Islam and the extermination of Israel.

All of this is way over his head as he smokes another joint and sometimes smokes something else....

ATLANTA (AP) -- A longtime aide to Jimmy Carter has resigned from the Carter Center think tank, calling the former president's new book on Israel and the Arabs one-sided and filled with errors.

Kenneth Stein, the Carter Center's first executive director and founder of its Middle East program, sent a letter that bluntly criticized the book to Carter and others.

Stein wrote that the book, "Palestine: Peace, Not Apartheid," was replete with factual errors, material copied from other sources and "simply invented segments," according to an excerpt of the letter published by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Deanna Congileo, Carter's spokeswoman, said the former president stands by the book.
