The Real Sporer applauds Rants, Lunby and ……………….

………… all of the other Republican legislators for sticking together and voting against the Democrats repeal of the human cloning ban. Keeping the entire bi-cameral caucus together to vote against SF 162 is a fine display of leadership.

Unity in the face of Democrat extremism provides a clear legislative demonstration of a major difference in principle between the Republican and Democrat view of human life. Republicans believe human life has inherent value and Democrats view it as a commodity.

The Republican legislators gave the Iowa voter an example of this distinction in action in the unanimous Republican opposition to human cloning while the Democrats gave cloning their near unanimous support.

Our challenge as a party is to make the public aware of the existence and importance of this very big difference between Republicans and Democrats.

So IF a treatment becomes available from this type of research - all good Republicans will refuse such treatment for themselves, their children, and their elderly parents????

What's next for the Republicans - marching out of the statehouse in lock step humming "Every Sperm is Sacred" from Monty Python?

"Remember Sporer created controversy in the week leading up to the November election by defending Rush Limbaugh's assessment of Michael J. Fox."

Too bad our campaigns didn't understand what was coming at them like you did, Ted.

But, then again, you loose cannon you. You just never know what you are going to say. Too bad you didn't get them off message - what was that message again? - in order for them to have fought over this BEFORE the election.

Now, we have human cloning right here in river city.

Come on Sporer - I want to hear you say "If my kids, wife, or loved ones ever could benefit from a treatment derived from embryonic stem cell research - I will refuse that treatment." You should put it in writing and drop it off at the doctors office to keep in your medical records.

Typical democrat strategy. Did you get that idea from Barbara Boxer? 7:15? Is this how democrats intend to counter their immoral use of human embryos for weird science experiments? Will we hear every democrat challenge every republican to vow to not be cured? How about you acknowledge what this issue was really all about? It wasn't aboug cures. It was about keeping abortion legal. Now, we even have an industry where they prey on young women to harvest their eggs for research.

That's pretty icky and you guys get to get to live with that. You've taken advantage of sick people. It's a sick and twisted stance to be associated with.

Human cloning belongs to the democrats.

State of Iowa Senator, duly elected by democrats in his district, Ako Samaad is highlighted today in the Register as a great example of a black person because it's black history month. (I guess) I'm sure MLK Jr is just real proud about Ako being elected based on the color of his skin rather than the content of his character, but, it gives this as his an educational reference. Is he a lawyer?

He graduated from the National Conference of Black Lawyers Community College of Law and International Diplomacy. It's in Chicago.

Is this a real school? I can't find it on google.

They forgot to highlight his criminal background when he called himself Steven Green, was a black panther, now am Imam in the Louis Farrakahn black muslim "religion". Was allegedgly involved in a bombing at Drake Univerisity, former gang member and who's current income is derived from having a suspect non-profit organization funded by our tax dollars. He didn't graduate from high school, yet he was elected to the school board - again based on WHAT? His deep abiding respect for education?
