......... rearmament. I have to say that I might have mis-predicted the nature of the McCain appearance on NBC, It is early in the show but McCain is confronting the liberal premises of Russert's questions and sounding very presidential. He is making the most cogent, contextual and understandable explanation of our global situation and why we fight that any candidate has yet presented.
And to think, I arose this morning to throw out a short post on Mitt's new military commercials, which are even better than his earlier outstanding commercials. Both Mitt and McCain are now showing a little leg on this major issue.
History is always useful. Within recent recollection the Clinton years conclusively demonstrate the fundamental reason that the 21st CenturyDemocrats should never control the White House-their misguided naiveté weakens our nation and emboldens our enemies. The massive military cuts of the 90s was the ackowledged bastard of the post Cold War belief that the world had moved beyond history-much like the beorgeoisie cafe society of pre WW1 Vienna.
I strongly recommend the "Guns of August", "The German Wars " and "Dreadnought" as three books one ought to read before choosing a nominee or a President. History provides some hellishly strong reminders for those who choose to forget it.
P.S. Lindsey Graham is pounding the accent of condescension out of Barbie Boxer on CNN. Go GOP this morning!

Yes, it would be nice to think you can guarantee peace by being peaceful.
Regrettably that relies on others being like minded and that is not always the case.
Also Donald Rumsfeld seem to think he could win a war on a tight budget.
