Talk Show Preview (5.12.07)

A new Saturday feature here at the Real Sporer is a preview of tomorrow morning’s political gab fests.

Fox News Sunday. Rudy Giuliani is the primary guest. Rudy has really faced his first tough week this week. His positions on abortion do seem at odds with those of most of the party. He finally maybe landed on his ultimate position at week’s end. Tomorrow’s Fox appearance will draw a big audience because it’s a big moment for our current frontrunner. (♠♠♠♠)

Late Edition. Wolf does a great job. A gaggle of Senators, including Mitch McConnell, will be on hand. I always thought McConnell was one of our best overall party spokesmen in the Senate. He is one of the few that doesn’t defer to the liberals, hosts or guests, and aggressively advocates our party position. McConnell v. Barbie Boxer should be fun. Drew Barrymore’s presence will help to salve the eyes after another dose of Max Cleland’s demented hate filled rant. (♠♠♠)

Meet the Press. Tim Russert is going to again demonstrate to John McCain that the national media only loves a Republican when they’re ripping on other Republicans. I’ll bet the Senator is singing “New Kid In Town” after he see’s the edited version of this interview. (♠♠)

This Week. Barak Obama will explain the 10,000 dead in Kansas slip. C’mon Senator, we all know it was Freudian. You only wanted 10,000 to die, having been cheated by Hurricane Katrina’s stubborn refusal to produce the body count the original and most hysterical Bush bashers predicted. This guy bears watching however as he is a formidable new face. Can you imagine the sycophancy that Stephanopolous will shower on B. Hussein Obama? ()

Face the Nation. Chuck Hagel is proving that the Vietnam Syndrome has made the jump from Democrats to Republicans, kind of like when AIDS moved from simians to sapiens. Hopefully we can contain this disease before it becomes pandemic. Sen. Hagel can join Sen. McCain in the chorus of New Kid at the conclusion of this interview. (¾♠)

To say any candidate, regardless of party, any AMERICAN, wanted more people to die in Kansas is simply childish and ignorant.

I expect better from you. That was pathetic.

Love the use of the spades for rankings. Good one.

Our raison d'ĂȘtre here at TRS

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.” John Stuart Mill

We at The Real Sporer believe that the crises of our generation is the preservation of a United States of America based on fundamental rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Oddly enough, our generation, that grew in the quiet and secure 50s, 60s and 70s and thought we could escape history now find ourselves at the cross roads of history. At a time when the prevailing media, academic and even now industrial elites find the easy road of paternalistic socialist totalitarianism more expedient to travel we are convinced that only preserving the more traditional America will better provide the well known blessings of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness to us and our posterity.

In the real world, the Republican freedom agenda is the only alternative to the thought police and rations commissar of the socialist nanny state. But the agenda that we share with the founding generation, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, will never again prevail if we don't fight our generation's battle to renew America's commitment to freedom with our socialist adversaries.

Our mission statement is therefore clear: provide the information and argument that leads to a Republican Renaissance and Republican governance.
