…………….. and brother did he generate enthusiasm. A large crowd gathered around Rudy from the moment he arrived at the main Grand Avenue gate.
People shouted out things like “There’s Rudy Giuliani” from all angles as Giuliani walked around the Fairgrounds for several hours. Rudy took impromptu questions from the crowd at all of his stops. The Giuliani leadership mystique was on full display in his typically well-reasoned answers.
One thing that differentiates Giuliani from almost every other politician in America is his willingness to explain to people why they should agree with him instead of why he agrees with them. Giuliani has mastered the too rare practice of persuasive argument. Rudy fielded the usual questions on Iraq and immigration with his usual very hard lines. Rudy has added a smart argument for improving the immigration bureauacracy to expedite and organize the flow of legal migrant labor since the last time I heard him in any detail on the topic of immigration. Refreshingly, America’s Mayor also straight up answered more unusual queries about things like privatizing public services.
Rudy also focuses much attention on fiscal issues-and again presents a very conservative agenda of Reaganesque tax and regulatory relief. Rudy talked about his record of executive experience at almost every stop as well.
Most to my liking, Rudy takes the fight hard to the Democrats on every topic. He is not abashed in any position that he asserts, which is also refreshing even when disagreeing with Giuliani. It is far easier to gage that actions of someone with whom one disagrees if the disagreement is open and honest. Giuliani draws bright lines for the voters.
Rudy appeared unshaken by everything but the heat. His high-energy personality and the New Guinea like humidity seemed to be boiling the poor guy but otherwise a very Presidential performance today for America’s Mayor here at the great State Fair (don’t miss it, don’t even be late). No wonder the media has begun exploiting the Giuliani family, they are very, very afraid.

too bad he gave the middle finger to your party last weekend...
Was he wearing a suit or a dress?
According to The Washington Post, Republican presidential contender, Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback, who strongly opposes stem cell research, owns a mutual fund that invests in Novo Nordisk.
Novo Nordisk is a firm that conducts embryonic stem cell research.
"very, very afraid."
They are right. There is a lot to be afraid of. Giuliani would be a tyrant, according to the accounts I've read, e.g.,
