If the committee approves the King proposal, it would be the first middle school in Maine to make a full range of contraception available to students in grades 6 to 8, said Nancy Birkhimer, director of teen health programs for the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. Most middle schoolers are ages 11-13.

San Francisco loves to think they are a model city and a model for human behavior and tolerance for all of us to follow. They are very sophisticated you know..just ask them.

In addition to being the AIDS capital of the world, a Sanctuary city for Illegal aliens and whose elected officials recently put up a monument celebrating the homeless as heros, now wishes to become the drug user capital of the world.
-------------

On Thursday, an all-day symposium - co-hosted by the city Department of Public Health - will examine the idea of creating safe injection centers where users could bring their drugs, shoot up and leave, without fear of arrest.

While the big dogs do their staged events, I'm out meeting the ordinary folks. Partcipating in the Iowa Fathers protest to remove Judge George Stigler out hundreds of brochures at the lackhawk County court house. Unlike Des Moines', wasn't hassled by the sheriff.

Ted, if the Washington Post story pans out New Hampshire will vote in early December, will Iowa follow suit?

Re the comment about San Francisco the city's really changed for the worse from when I moved there in early 1970s. For one thing it was affordable. Rented the entire floor of a Victorian near the top of Russian Hill with bay views for $400. Now the same unit would rent for $4000.

Live the East Bay now. Rarely go to The City because of slide in quality of life. Beggers everwhere, parking costs the earth, and much of the charm is simply gone. It's like New York City where only the really rich limosine liberal crowd can live comfortably.

Oakland's terriic because former "Governor Moon Beam" Jerry Brown was a terrific mayor. I practically gulped when I voted for his reelection. There's now a there there in Oakland.

The People's Republic of Berkeley is no more. The radicals became foodies. Berkeley today is a very upscale family oriented community which brings to mind my comment to Steve King some months ago.

Our 9th District congresswoman is Steve's arch political adversary Barbara Lee. At a meeting where he spoke of his battles with her. Afterwards, told Steve I was his only supporter in the 9th district. In reply to his question why I lived there said they pay me to reside there for diversity purposes.

Hassled by the Sheriff, Mark? Really? Tell us more. Give some specific details as to how you were hassled by the Sheriff in Des Moines. A savvy guy like you would have gotten the name(s) of the Deputy too.

Who the hell's idea was it to name a University after a male duck anyway? Ridiculous.

Air America radio host Randi Rhodes claims she was brutally attacked near her Manhattan apartment are bogus, her lawyer and a police source said today.

Fellow host Jon Elliott claimed on the liberal radio network that Rhodes had been mugged while walking her dog, Simon, on Sunday night. Elliot, who said Rhodes lost several teeth in the attack, waxed about a possible conspiracy.

"Is this an attempt by the right-wing, hate machine to silence one of our own?" he asked on the air, according to Talking Radio, a blog. "Are we threatening them? Are they afraid that we’re winning? Are they trying to silence intimidate us?"

Another blogger shot back, "I very seriously doubt if this unfortunate woman was mugged by a conservative.

To jump to the conclusion that she was mugged by someone on the right is bigotry of another kind. Think not?"

Have you all noticed the increased frequency of "news" articles from the MSM that is manufacturing news that the economy is bad?

Carville said the key to victory is to convince the public that the economy is bad. Here we go again!

The economy is the best it's ever been ever ever....even under Bill "I've never met a chick I didn't want to share a cigar with" Clinton.

The BIG 3 anchors on the Useful Idiot News channels were all trying to convince us the economy is bad.

Watch out...they know D's and the media won't do their own research, so we must do it for them.

Getting back to San Franfreeko, apparently news that home prices have fallen in the city where a 1000 square ft home sells for a million dollars, is evidence that we are on the brink of collapse in the overall economy.

Don't think so. It's the best thing to happen to teachers, nurses, maids, gardeners, WalMart workers, union workers, and those illegal aliens for whom they wish to provide sanctuary, EVER.

Now, the middle class might be able to afford a home in the city where they service multi-millionaires like Nancy Pelosi.
