Yesterday, we here at TRS reported that Erik Helland-Republican candidate for HD69-augmented his bio ads from earlier weeks with a comparison ad. The comparison ad is being aired on what appears to be a pretty massive scale for Statehouse primary.
This morning Al Lorenzen, also a candidate for the Republican HD69 nomination, responded with a bio ad. We haven’t been able to locate a link for the actual video. The Lorenzen ad is airing on Fox News Channel.
Our raison d'ĂȘtre here at TRS
“War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.” John Stuart Mill
We at The Real Sporer believe that the crises of our generation is the preservation of a United States of America based on fundamental rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Oddly enough, our generation, that grew in the quiet and secure 50s, 60s and 70s and thought we could escape history now find ourselves at the cross roads of history. At a time when the prevailing media, academic and even now industrial elites find the easy road of paternalistic socialist totalitarianism more expedient to travel we are convinced that only preserving the more traditional America will better provide the well known blessings of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness to us and our posterity.
In the real world, the Republican freedom agenda is the only alternative to the thought police and rations commissar of the socialist nanny state. But the agenda that we share with the founding generation, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, will never again prevail if we don't fight our generation's battle to renew America's commitment to freedom with our socialist adversaries.
Our mission statement is therefore clear: provide the information and argument that leads to a Republican Renaissance and Republican governance.

I liked Al's commercials. They showcased his conservative mindset and commitment to his district. Helland has received $70,000 from ITR in the last report period alone: will he be an independent voice for the district at the state house? Doubt it. He's owned and they will remind him every time they snap their fingers...or tell him how to vote. Lorenzen will listen to his constituents...not a small few who live in Muscatine. I am looking forward to voting for Al tomorrow!
Al will listen to AFSCME. Talk about OWNING people. Al is a democrat.
Anyone who knows the game knows what ITR's expectations are. Helland will be their puppet if elected. OK sometimes, but VERY scary at most times. No one group should have $70K in a single campaign....
AFSCME also supported Bill Northey and he's a great Republican Sec of Ag....gimme a break...$1500 vs $70,000???? Spare me!!! If you live in District 69...vote for Al Lorenzen!
