Alcee Hastings ads race baiting to bribery in the most ethical Congress ever.

Rep. Alcee Hastings, a Florida Democrat, shares a distinction with only five other people, ever. Only six federal judges have been impeached and convicted since Washington, Madison and Hamilton invented f the United States. A Jimmy Carter appointee, Rep. Hastings was impeached in the House by a vote of 413-3 in 1989 (meaning, of course, that hundreds of Democrats like Speaker Pelosi Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer vote “aye”). The Articles of Impeachment were based on now Congressman, then Judge, Hastings acceptance of bribes for sentencing leniency.

Now Congressman, then Judge Hastings, was subsequently convicted in the Senate by a vote of 69-26 and entered history as one of the “Select Six”, along with other Carter appointee
Harry Claiborne impeached and convicted for tax evasion and bringing disrepute to the American judiciary. Odd, forty two other Presidents in 221 years produced four convicted judges and Jimmy Carter produced two, but we digress into the target rich environment of Carter incompetence.

While doing a little YouTube surfing we uncovered Rep. Hasting’s racist tirade before the National Democrat Jewish Council.

Yes, Rep. Hastings explicitly said that hunters “don’t care what they do with Jews and blacks”. Aside from the reality that some hunters are undoubtedly black or Jewish, and hence apparently self loathing in Rep. Hasting’s world, the racial animus is shocking, even for the party of Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Reverend Al Sharpton and Reverend Jesse “Heime Town” Jackson. Use of the chilling but unseen threat of "they" is positively Goebbelesque. After all, who are the “they” and what do “they” intend to do to blacks or Jews?

The media outrage would shake the Earth itself in scope and volume if a white Republican Congressman, and a Committee Chair no less, told white Protestants that they’d better vote for Sen. McCain because any black man who plays basketball doesn’t care what "they" do to white Protestants.

The mainstream media have ignored Rep. Hastings outrageous race baiting. The Obama campaign hasn’t even bothered with its pious but ambiguous commentary on the state of politics it has previously employed when its surrogates’ vicious personal attacks on Sen. McCain or Gov. Palin.

So much for the new post racial, post partisan politics.

Roy Cohn, a true Regan Republican, a man that epitomizes the Republican Party of today.

Don't know who he is?

Look him up

Hastings and Rangel are felons. They need to have their balls cut off by Jesse Jackson.

Just like Sporer to busy us with sideshows while the Bushies try to steal the country blind.

Sporer provides the diversion. I'd say that makes him an accomplice.

You mean like Barney Frank and Gerry Studds? Funny, when Republicans do that they get tossed out. Democrats who act like that get chairmanships.

Libs are here to remind us how communist takeovers begin.

In 1981, Hastings was charged with accepting a $150,000 bribe in exchange for a lenient sentence and a return of seized assets for 21 counts of racketeering by Frank and Thomas Romano, and of perjury in his testimony about the case. He was acquitted by a jury after his alleged co-conspirator, William Borders, refused to testify in court (resulting in a jail sentence for Borders).

In 1988, the Democratic-controlled U.S. House of Representatives took up the case, and Hastings was impeached for bribery and perjury by a vote of 413-3. Voters to impeach included Democratic Representatives Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, John Conyers and Charles Rangel. He was then convicted in 1989 by the United States Senate, becoming the sixth federal judge in the history of the United States to be removed from office by the Senate. The vote on the first article was 69 for and 26 opposed, providing five votes more than the two-thirds of those present that were needed to convict. The first article accused the judge of conspiracy. Conviction on any single article was enough to remove the judge from office. The Senate vote cut across party lines, with Senator Patrick J. Leahy, Democrat of Vermont voting to convict his fellow party member, and Arlen Specter voting to acquit.[1]

The Senate had the option to forbid Hastings from ever seeking federal office again, but did not do so. Alleged co-conspirator, attorney William Borders went to jail again for refusing to testify in the impeachment proceedings, but was later given a full pardon by Bill Clinton on his last day in office.[2]

"And Herbert Walker Bush didn't pardon a damn soul on his last day of office did he?

Idiot."

Sure, didn't he pardon some terrorists? or was that some other guy?

Hey,

What do you guys think of Iowa Supreme Court Justices Mark Cady and Daryl Hecht?

Your ANONYMOUS racist rant is a thin disguise for your DEMOCRATIC PARTY affiliation. Stand up like a MAN when you spew your venom and put your real name out there for all to see. For the record, I don't know any Republicans using the N word but I do hear many Democrats using it.

Democrats are the RACIST party even when they post anonymously on a Republican blog. You guys aren't fooling anybody and while you're at it - tell your leader "eyebrows stretched to my hairline" Pelosi to blame herself for the bailout vote.

Liberal hacks trolling the website, besides their obvious cowardice, don't seem to add anything to the conversation. Moreover, Democrats are the racists otherwise why are you people worried about your members voting against Obama because of his skin color. We Republicans vote against him because of his Marxist views since we don't care about his skin color.

Ted should eliminate anonymous postings because there are too many "OXYGEN THIEVES" trolling the site. You know, I am normally pro-life but liberal Kool Aid drinkers do not strengthen the argument that everyone deserves it. The only way I can reconcile it is the belief that God gave us all free will and you LIBS squandered the opportunity to be moral and decent.

BTW - I noticed you did not take issue with the N-Word. I assume it is because you are the same Anon. You guys are sooooo racist.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, Ken. Neither of them are racist. You seem petty quick to tag someone with that. Just like anybody who disagrees with you is a Liberal. School yard taunts; You're no better than those you supposedly disdain. Pitiful.

Ken R said...

Yeah, pitiful indeed. Libs are using the N-word and you don't take issue with it at all.

In my book, you Dems are the most racist of all. On one hand you believe in endless welfare and affirmative action for minorities and on the other you call half of your white males racist if they won't vote for Obama.

And still no condemnation for your own use of the N-word. PATHETIC INDEED.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, neither Liberal nor a Democrat. But I do believe in endless welfare. It's worth every penny to keep that filth out of my neighborhood. Are you really so pie eyed as to believe in this hand up as opposed to a hand out nonsense? You're living in a fantasy world, sport.
