Barack is kicking McBush's butt.

Barack made great points about Afghanastan.

And he just kicked his butt in the "bracelet battle too."

Looks like its curtains for Republican Fascism!

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Kick his butt in the bizarro world.

The bracelet battle........Barack had to look down at the bracelt to remember then name. We usually call that "insincere".

not only had to look down, then couldnt pronounce the guys name. "I have a braceletg too.." sounded like an certified ahole.

Anonymous said...

Pronounce?

Did you just hear McBush's attempt to say the PM or Iran's name? He had no clue.

He also didnt know how to pronounce Perestrokia.

Anonymous said...

I think I've heard Obama say, "Senator McCain is right" about a dozen times so far! I'm glad he agrees with the rest of us!

Anonymous said...

Wow!

Henry Kissenger agrees with Obama and disagrees with McBush?

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Oooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

Diction-now there's an important asset for POTUS.

But I suppose that Mac was busy learning that Mahmoud the Terrible is the President of Iran, son, not the Prime Minister.

By way, Greg, what do you and Barack consider our muli-party talks with that bug eating pedophile in North Korea and the genocidal terrorists who govern Iran.

We call them multi-lateral negotiations over on the right side of the aisle.

Anonymous said...

And what have those multi-lateral negotiations accomplished?

Bull

Absolutely nothing.

The McCain/Bush regime has taken their eye off the ball and let Pakistan, Russia, North Korea and Al-Qeada embolden themeselves and get stronger while we are tied up in Iraq.

Anonymous said...

McCain is living in the clouds.

How are we going to have the clout to stand up to Russia?

Clinton would have invaded, as he did in Bosnia, had he seen such aggression.

Bush/McCain sent diplomats. The invasion of Georgia was a test and Bush/McCain failed

Anonymous said...

I dont think Clinton would have done any better.

McCain has voted 23 times against solar energy and bio-diesel and now he wants it?

We are in this national security debacle because we are not able to break our grip on foreign oil.

Anonymous said...

Yes, we are in this national security debacle because of Saudi oil, but we werent in this situation in 2000, when Bush took office!

Sooner or later you Republicans will run out of fingers to point at others and you will need to point them at yourself

Anonymous said...

You know what, JJ? I AM A REPUBLICAN!

I believe in free-market, I believe in demolishing our welfare system, but I also think we should focus on America First!

We need to use that money we are spending to build schools and hospitals in Iraq and use it to grow business in America!

Clinton started this in the 90's and McCain will continue it.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

I agree about multi-lateral negotiations, pointless but the absence of such multi-lateral talks was the big liberal whine before Iraq (which assumed that the UK, Australia, Spain, Italy, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Rumania, and 30 other countries were mere American puppets).

Afghanistan, please. Are the Taliban issuing visas, providing money, arms and training using the economic, military and diplomatic assets of a sovereign nation? We are in a war, a war that W said was going to be very long.

What did Barack say, Al Qaeda is still sending out videos. Since they were sending mass killing suicide bombers and terrorists to kill Americans in the ten years leading up to 9.11. I'd call that great progess, since the videos aren't really all that lethal.

Do you really want to debate the foreign policy issues with me or do you just drop the idiotic liberal talking points? I'd be happy to talk about Russia and North Korea.

Yes, Al Qaeda is operating in 60 countries, but not with the lethality, efficacy, assets and coordination they possessed in those same 60 nations.

Anonymous said...

McCain wants America to stay in Iraq for 100 years! Do you know how much money that will cost!? , it is almost 700 Billion right now, after 5 years. After 100, it will cost 14 Trillion Dollars!!

We cannot sustain this, No nation in the History of the world has had a failing economy and a thriving military.

Wake up Greg!! This is not the party of Regan, this is a fascist regime that will do ANYTHING to stay in power!

Sporer,

I served in the 2nd BCT, 2ID. which was deployed from the DMZ in the Republic of Korea to Anbar Province Iraq. THE ONLY ARMY UNIT EVER TO BE DEPLOYED FROM ONE ZONE OF CONFLICT TO ANOTHER, EVER.

We took troops out of Korea, because we did not have enough in Iraq.

We agree that things need to be done but how? How do we, with a standing army that is largely occupied in Iraq, deal with Russia, China, and North Korea?

Especially with the terrible economic condidtions facing our country?

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Jeremie, Clinton attacked the Serbs with solid information that they wouldn't fight back.

Clinton ran out of Somalia faster than he fished that cigar out the humidor on pizza night at the White House, didn't respond to the first WTC bombing, the barracks bombing, the embassy bombings or the Cole bombing-a failure that Al Qaeda specifically cited as reasons for pulling off 9.11. Clinton caved to the North Koreans when we had our last clear chance to contain their nuclear program. Clinton miserably failed to implement the regime change that was the stated policy of his government for Iraq.

That NK failure gave the Iranians the balls to accelerate their nuke program. Hopefully W will blast the Iranians quite literally into the stone age after the election. Seventy five days of continuous bombing of their military sites, hydroelectric damns, refineries, nuke sights and port facilities ought to persuade thoses sons of bitches that we remember the hostages, the '83 combined Iraq/Iran barracks bombing, the hi-jacking of som many planes, the support of Hamas and Hezbollah. It should also persuade every other greasy little piss ant terror regime (like those thugs in Syria for an example) that they'd be better off not pushing Uncle Sam too far.

Anonymous said...

YES, you are exactly right Sporer!

Bomb them!

For Christ sake and quit sending our troops in short handed to fester on the ground!

Bush he came into this war like a lamb and American soldiers took it up the butt, because of him.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Greg,

See step 1 above. I think we'd be taken a lot more seriously if we really kick the shit out of the bad guys like we did in the last world war.

Step 2, massive military build up.

Step 3, recommit to our allies in Japan and accelerate the Clinton-Bush Vietnam policy to contain China.

Step 4, read more Nixon and spend some time with Kissenger so as to reconstruct the triangular diplomacy that kept the Russians and the Chinese hostile.

Step 5, accelerate energy independence to WW2 levels of importance, frees up a lot of money, and, if we do it based on free market principles, a lot of tax revenue to spend on the military.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Jeremie, our economy isn't failing for God'sake. Don't be such a chicken little.

We have a challenge, that's all. Our economy is what, two and a half times as large as the next largest?

We need to make some changes, mostly getting the government out of the economy. Would you prefer the western european economic model?

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Bush's instincts were in the right place but he is a creature of his times, the peace and love 60s. They prattle about solving poverty in Africa, Islam is a religion of peace and otherwise fear the one aspect of every war, killing more of the enemy than they kill of you.

We need a Lincoln or FDR who understands that casualties (on levels unheard of in our generation), however saddening they may be, are inherent in winning a big war.

We should have attacked Syria, Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan by 9.18.01 and just pounded them until they either abandoned the principles that justified or glorified the killing of Americans or killed everyone who held that philosophy in those countries. I'll bet that would have had a very salutory effect in places like Pakistan and Indonesia.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Actually, if we give them the green light I think the Israelis could spend those same 75 days cleaning up Syria and the Palestinian territories. Hell, they could simply bulldoze Gaza in the Mediterranean Sea.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

JJ, as for the hunred years, you are grossly distorting what McCain said and you know that you are.

I assume that you want to pull out of Korea and Japan, Western Europe, Southern Europe and Panama also. We've been in all of those rather peaceful parts of the world far longer than Iraq.

Anonymous said...

Sporer,

You do need to acknowledge that we need some sort of an exit plan or vision for Iraqi future from McCain. "Achieving victory" is not really cutting it. He's starting to sound like W. Now that even the Iraqis want a timetable, McCain needs to come up with something real.

Anonymous said...

"Jeremie, our economy isn't failing for God'sake. Don't be such a chicken little."

Yeah - tell that to everyone losing their jobs across the country as all these financial institutions disappear. Jesus Christ - get out and mingle with the common man a little more Ted. W just told us the other night we are in for a disaster if something drastic isn't done immediately - you calling the president a liar?

Anonymous said...

Sporer,

Here is my counterpoint...

"I assume that you want to pull out of Korea and Japan, Western Europe, Southern Europe and Panama also. We've been in all of those rather peaceful parts of the world far longer than Iraq." Ted Sporer (above)

Korea "rather peaceful"? really?
It actually split into two countries after Eisenhower brokered a deal, and we are still officially AT WAR with the People of Communist North Korea, who now have nuclear capabilities.
Germany also split into a communist held country, and we stayed in Japan because we lost China to communism in 1949.

Point being we stayed because WE LOST! We did not lose because we left.

JJ, isnt being truthful with what Sen. McCain said, and I honestly think we will pull out sooner, rather than later on the 100 year scale no matter who wins the Presidency.

Where me and Sporer have fundamental differences is being that I live in the real world and Sporer lives in the world of coulda been shoulda been.

YES we should be agressive
YES we should help spread democracy
YES we should take it to terrorists!

But where are we going to get the millions of troops to do this?

We would need a draft, WW2 rationing of goods, factories making munitions non-stop. Set Isreal lose on the mid east? Great ideas! But not going to happen! Bush could have done it in 2002 and we could have had our war, but the Republican party will not do it!

McCain is not our FDR, he is not our Lincoln.

And the more we spend in peacekeeping with the people of Iraq, providing them welfare and essientially building their nation at tax payer expense, the more clout we lose against Russia and China.

Call me cold, or liberal or whatever you want, but I would rather see Iraqi's die by the thousands fighting for their country than a single American die for Iraqi's who dont deserve the sacrifice.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

rf

first, glad to see you back.

second, what do you mean by "exit strategy". That is one of those silly post Vietnam constructs that rationalizes the actual resolution of conflict.

Like McCain, I see no problem with large American bases (land/air/naval) in Iraq, much like Europe, Japan and Korea.

Wars only end when one side wins. Our global war on Islamofacism and its terrorist manifestations is going to continue for many years in the future. Having large military forces in the primary conflict zone seems sensible.

At least it did to Marshall, Eisenhower and McCarthur (to name just three of the architects of the very successful post WW2 global strategy).

Major combat operations ended years ago in Iraq. Low level guerilla type operations drug on for a few years and that too seems to be laregly coming to an end.

Oh, lest I forget, large American forces in Iraq undoubtedly serve as some deterrent to Iranian aggression and regional hegemony.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Anon 12:11

If we do nothing this liquidity problem will become a larger crises, to be sure, but that hasn't happened yet. While Congress is typically incapable of serving the larger national interest they will surely be so scared of incumbent repudiation

Unemployment around 6% is the economy "falling apart"? Its barely over the historic norm, which includes the smaller labor forces as a point of measurement.

You represent the biggest problem we face in this country, utter emotional pessimism that either paralyzes action of, as the Democrats want, creates fear so that people are willing to embrace their socialist/totalitarian agenda.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

greg (using that name again?)

your historical analysis is factually incorrect. Germany was didvided as part of the Yalta and Potsdam Accords and had nothing to do with "winning or losing". The division of Germany into zones of occupation as a means of pacifying Germany and balancing the rights of the winning nations (and why the French were included is beyond me).

Do you really think that North Korea is going to invade the South? If not, then why would you object to the use of our too limited forces being transfered to a combat zone? Moreoever, the ROK army of today is much, much more powerful than it was in 1950. You must know that we are in KOrea as a trip wire.

We would hardly need a draft or rationing, etc.... Hell's bell's Libya threw in the towel without a fight. Iran might go the way of Serbia if we hit their economic infrastructure.

Good thing your quite isolationistic premises weren't prevalent in 1946 or we wouldn't have had a Marshall Plan, saved Greece, Iran and Malaysia and Indonesia and Turkey from the Soviet empire. We spend the money to create a more peaceful world in which American market place economics create our astounding prosperity. Its a very big and long term investment. But then again, what percentage of the GDP was spent in WW1 and WW2, not to mention about a million American lives and hundreds of millions of others.

We do agree that our nation lacks to the stomach for such a fight. I fear, very much fear, that it is going to take a massive nuclear or bio attack before we get sufficiently pissed to really unleash GI Joe on the Middle East.

While McCain might not be Abraham Lincoln or FDR Obama is Neville Chamberlain and Stanley Baldwin.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Oh, I agree that we brokered a deal in Korea. We did because we didn't blow the bridges between Korea and China and use air power to keep them closed while fortifying the Korean side.

McArthur was right, again.

How about name a governmental committee that he has led?

Sporer,

Been a bit busy trying to ensure we get a D president this time. Desperate needs of the country leave less time for the blogs.

So when are the R's going to advocate for permanent presence and bases in Iraq? There is an electoral winner for you! And so in line with the quick, cheap, greeted-as-liberators victory we were promised. I do think we could get rid of many bases in Europe and Asia, no question about that. But the political ramifications of permanent military presence in Iraq are very different from our bases in Western Europe. Plus, Iraqis and their leadership want us out as well. Seems like the only people left thinking we should stay indefinitely are W, McCain and Sporer.

McCain lacks leadership only in his willingness to play nice with the libs. He should drive it home that this is a Democratic Party fiasco. McCain needs to take no prisoners on this one.

Anonymous said...

Wait a second, ken

McCain backs the bailout, so does Nancy Pelosi and Obama.

McCain suspended his campaign to go get the votes needed to pass the bailout.

"The point is -- the point is, we are finally seeing Republicans and Democrats sitting down and negotiating together and coming up with a package."- John McCain

Lets make this a "No-Spin Zone", Ken

McCain is hung out to dry five weeks before the election. The House Republicans realized that McCain is too far to the left and they came out against him. Which was the smart thing to do, following McCain to defeat will lose us even more seats in the house.

We should thank Steve King, Tom Latham and Bruce Braley for voting against this!

Ken R said...

Silly libs,

Do not blame McCain for being a realist and do not think we are out of the woods just yet. There may be compelling financial reasons to attempt a bailout but they are not to save speculators or to reinforce bad (liberal) affirmative action lending practices. McCain realized the pork laden Democratic bailout was doomed attempted to modify the agreement. If memory serves, Keith Overbite, Harry the body Reid, and Nancy Pelosi (among other libs), claimed the bailout bill was going to pass until McCain showed up. Heck, the Democrats have the majority so they could pass it on their own if they wanted to but they are more concerned with political games at this point and want to blame McCain for the failure of Pelosi and the House. McCain is a Senator but exhibited more leadership than Nancy “Stretch” Pelosi trying to get something passed. Oh, and that venomous speech she gave blaming Republicans for a Democratic fiasco really added that special touch that only Nancy Pelosi knows how to give.

I do not think we would be in this mess if businesses were allowed to earn points on banked money because the real argument we are saving payrolls. If businesses were allowed to earn interest, I assume they would have sufficient reserves for extreme financial downturns. The Republicans voted against this bill out of fear the free market was being subverted by our government to the point it might disappear. Democrats voted against it because they wanted more give always. McCain is trying to get something in place to stop the freefalling market and help companies make payroll. Personally, I am glad it failed because that means businesses will have to find resources or sell. We will go through difficult times but it will be ok and we will have a stronger economy as a result. McCain’s motives are good and his concern for Main Street is sincere – unlike Marxist liberals attempting to use this “crisis” for their own ends.

And….where is Harry the body Reid’s apology to McCain? It appears McCain was right, ONCE AGAIN, and the Democrats were wrong because they did not have the votes to pass the bailout.

Sodders Swings and Misses

Yesterday the baseball and political postseason entered full swing and another team has a loss next to their name—Steve Sodders and his liberal 527 special interest group from Des Moines. When the first pitch was thrown in the political season, Sodders and his special interest group resorted to the spread of false information to gain traction in Iowa's District 22 State Senate race, and they've missed the ball badly.

“My sister called to tell me she received a mailer about a bogus plan to raise the national sales tax,” Heil stated. "It is disappointing that so early in the political season my opponent and his special interest friends are resorting to desperate lies and distortions to gain traction in their campaign. The citizens of the District 22 will not allow this election to be purchased by Steve Sodders’ lobbyist friends from Des Moines."

The Midwest Enterprise Group is a liberal special interest group supporting Sodders who claims Heil is in favor of a federal tax plan which the United States Congress would have to vote for to pass. A State Senator will never see such legislation come across their desk.

Heil went on to say, “As State Senator, I will be a watchdog for the taxpayer by supporting policies that reduce taxes and the size of government and allow small businesses, communities and its citizens to thrive. Keeping the record straight on the issues is a homerun for the voters and I will continue to do just that as a State Senator.”

The sleazy politics from both sides will continue BIG time this month. They need to close the public record loophole and make all of them list their donors publicly.

We're on the verge of breaking things open. Our chances have never looked better to elect that filibuster-proof Senate majority to help Barack Obama put this country back on the right course.

All the polls are breaking our way. As I write this, Democratic candidates are leading in no fewer than six races for current Republican seats. And we're seeing a marked trend of our trailing candidates closing the gap in key battleground states.

Things are looking so strong that the DC-insider newspaper Roll Call recently published the headline "New Senate Polls Show GOP Slipping." The nonpartisan Rothenberg Political Report just upgraded its ranking of four of our races. For the first time, they now favor our candidates in Oregon and Colorado.

Our proven campaign strategy is working. In the last 10 days, the DSCC has spent more than $9 million of your money in eight states to air TV ads that expose third-party lies and hold Republicans accountable for eight years of failure and incompetence.

Anonymous said...

The GOP and McCain/Palin are gonna be like monkeys in a poop house for the next 30 days. I don't expect to see a single positive ad promoting their policies - get ready for them to make the Swift Boaters look like they were in Sunday school. I always thought McCain was better than that too.

If the Democrats win, no less with a bunch of ballot stuffing, we will see the biggest display of treasury raiding in recorded history.

The good news is the rich will survive, just as they have in Venezuela, because the lilly left will be unable to turn the US into a true communist state.

The bad news is most Americans will become poor and be forced to accept entitlements to survive while becoming wards of the state.

So in the end, socialism leads to more poverty while the rich survive. The rich will not become richer unless we compare them to the rest of our population that becomes a lot poorer.

Vote Democrat and stick it to the little guy but make sure you stick it to him with a smile. Oh yeah, and if possible, make sure you stick it to him in the ass to commemorate the pro-gray lobby's support of democrats.

Ken R said...

JJ,

Liberals are unworthy of running the country because you all do not stand for anything other than your shared hatred of America. Mikey Moore is the real face of your party and Obama is the vehicle of that radical agenda. Obama, unlike Moore, realizes America does not really believe as he does, so he changes his speech accordingly to hide the truth. I've seen Obama when he has the home crowd and he's very articulate without constantly saying "umm, ahhh, errr, & aack" so it is obvious he says those things while struggling to find answers that will not alert people to his real socialist agenda.

Anonymous said...

"You all"???

If I am a liberal, than your very small tent, contains just you, Sporer, Stu Iverson, and a few other right wing nuts.

I love my country and I agree more with Bill O'Reilly than I do with Micheal Moore, however this Republican Party is not the conscious conservativism that taught us that he who agrees with me 85% of the time is not my enemy. This is neoconservatism which has more roots in the Nazi movement than in Goldwater conservativism.

Obama is so far ahead in the polls he may bring a couple more senate seats along with him and get the filibuster majority that might finally turn the Republican Party back to its true conservative roots. Because, believe me, that is the only chance they have of beating out what may be another 40 year dry spell.

FANNIE MAE EASES CREDIT TO AID MORTGAGE LENDING

By STEVEN A. HOLMES

Published in the New York Times on September 30, 1999.

In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.

The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets -- including the New York metropolitan region -- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring.

Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits.

In addition, banks, thrift institutions and mortgage companies have been pressing Fannie Mae to help them make more loans to so-called subprime borrowers. These borrowers whose incomes, credit ratings and savings are not good enough to qualify for conventional loans, can only get loans from finance companies that charge much higher interest rates -- anywhere from three to four percentage points higher than conventional loans.

''Fannie Mae has expanded home ownership for millions of families in the 1990's by reducing down payment requirements,'' said Franklin D. Raines, Fannie Mae's chairman and chief executive officer. ''Yet there remain too many borrowers whose credit is just a notch below what our underwriting has required who have been relegated to paying significantly higher mortgage rates in the so-called subprime market.''

Demographic information on these borrowers is sketchy. But at least one study indicates that 18 percent of the loans in the subprime market went to black borrowers, compared to 5 per cent of loans in the conventional loan market.

In moving, even tentatively, into this new area of lending, Fannie Mae is taking on significantly more risk, which may not pose any difficulties during flush economic times. But the government-subsidized corporation may run into trouble in an economic downturn, prompting a government rescue similar to that of the savings and loan industry in the 1980's.

''From the perspective of many people, including me, this is another thrift industry growing up around us,'' said Peter Wallison a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. ''If they fail, the government will have to step up and bail them out the way it stepped up and bailed out the thrift industry.''

Under Fannie Mae's pilot program, consumers who qualify can secure a mortgage with an interest rate one percentage point above that of a conventional, 30-year fixed rate mortgage of less than $240,000 -- a rate that currently averages about 7.76 per cent. If the borrower makes his or her monthly payments on time for two years, the one percentage point premium is dropped.

Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, does not lend money directly to consumers. Instead, it purchases loans that banks make on what is called the secondary market. By expanding the type of loans that it will buy, Fannie Mae is hoping to spur banks to make more loans to people with less-than-stellar credit ratings.

Fannie Mae officials stress that the new mortgages will be extended to all potential borrowers who can qualify for a mortgage. But they add that the move is intended in part to increase the number of minority and low income home owners who tend to have worse credit ratings than non-Hispanic whites.

Home ownership has, in fact, exploded among minorities during the economic boom of the 1990's. The number of mortgages extended to Hispanic applicants jumped by 87.2 per cent from 1993 to 1998, according to Harvard University's Joint Center for Housing Studies. During that same period the number of African Americans who got mortgages to buy a home increased by 71.9 per cent and the number of Asian Americans by 46.3 per cent.

In contrast, the number of non-Hispanic whites who received loans for homes increased by 31.2 per cent.

Despite these gains, home ownership rates for minorities continue to lag behind non-Hispanic whites, in part because blacks and Hispanics in particular tend to have on average worse credit ratings.

In July, the Department of Housing and Urban Development proposed that by the year 2001, 50 percent of Fannie Mae's and Freddie Mac's portfolio be made up of loans to low and moderate-income borrowers. Last year, 44 percent of the loans Fannie Mae purchased were from these groups.

The change in policy also comes at the same time that HUD is investigating allegations of racial discrimination in the automated underwriting systems used by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to determine the credit-worthiness of credit applicants.

Thanks a lot Democrats for screwing the economy. Is the goal to make everyone poor or is that just an accidental consequence of liberal policies?

I am the sort of guy who enjoys to taste fresh stuff. Right now I am manufacturing my own pv panels. I am making it all alone without the help of my men. I'm using the net as the only path to acheive that. I ran across a really brilliant website that explains how to build photovoltaic panels and so on. The internet site explains all the steps involved in building solar panels.

I'm not really sure bout how precise the info given there iz. If some guys over here who had experience with these things can have a see and give your feedback in the site it will be grand and I would highly value it, cauze I extremely like solar panel construction.

Tnx for reading this. You people rock.
