Let's see - both sides will try to spin the crap out of their respective candidates performance. McCain could pee his pants and Hannity will claim victory. Obama could vomit on stage and Begala would say it proves he is an ordinary guy. These debates are more beauty pagent than actual debate.

First question out of the gate on the economy...Obama works in a Great Depression reference and links Bush to McCain.

Goes to his playbook right away. Good for him, he needed to be aggressive and not wait for McCain to go after him.

This is a great populist answer by Obama. May be bad policy, but it's a great populist answer.

Good move by McCain to go the energy card right away...but he needed to say that Obama and his party have opposed the energy policies he and the American people.

Tough to make the argument about debt-load, Senator, when you voted for a bill that tacks on even more debt. And now McCain is arguing for even bigger government? Huh? This is first answer? To go bigger government than Obama?

Not a good start for McCain.

As long as they sell off the loans within a small window of time that would probably be a good EMERGENCY measure.

Yo yo yo, we've got a new story going re: the debate. Check out the home page and hit the new story-its got graphic aids.

Sen. Obama thinks that the Federal government can fire AIG Execs for having a party. They may be dumb, but when did the Feds get the authority to hire and fire private CEOs? Sounds like Stalin economics.

I've been a Democratic all my life, but no more.

And now McCain calls the bailout a rescue. Good night. This is his big attack night? So far he looks like what he's always looked like as a Senator, a self-righteous guy who always knows better then his party platform so he has the right to lecture us.

McCain is speaking at the audience, not to them. Okay, wait...now he links Obama to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. That's more like it, but you can tell McCain is too pious to sustain the attack, so it looks like a guerrilla sneak attack.

And now Obama speaks gently and in detail in what's in it for the voter. Totally bogus answer, but the delivery is more presidential.

I totally agree about sustaining the attack.

Walk the walk BHO, when Republicans tried to regulate Frannie and Freddy the Dems stepped in and stopped the oversight in its tracks.

What could be a better argument?
