Examine the graph and then ask yourself if you think the United States is more well educated, more prosperous, more secure from international attack and, most importantly, more free than we were relative to the rest of the word than we were in 1950?

I can think of a lot of people in this country who are much freer in 2010 than in 1950, and many other things have changed in the last 60 years. - Sorry, I'll take 2010 any day over 1950.
