The Yoda stickers were cool. Thanks Yoda. Congrats on the little one.
How much did Romney pay per vote?
$8 million for 4516 votes = $1771?
I would have voted for Mitt for $1771.
I would like to personally thank the 2587 R's who voted for Huckabee. Good for all of you! Based on my limited knowledge about the man, he seems like a good guy. I'm tempted to send his campaign a check.
rf. good call. Huck is a great guy and has done consistently better than the others in the debates with far less time.
My little brother got to drum with Gov. Huckabee's band today, thrill for him (although he also drummed with Ringo Starr at Farm Aid so he wasn't compeletely star struck). H
The band is a riot. Huckabee has opened for Lyndrd Syknrd, before they were mostly killed.
huck's the only candidate on our side, and i think the Ds also, that is talking about a market based (although with a ton of federal R&D money as well)energy independence plan, which you know is dear to my heart.
I've talked to him about it in some detail in a small group and he seems very knowledgeable and sincere and the subject.
ten years to no more saudi, iraqi and venezualan oil.
Only 14,302 voted - not as much $$$ as they had hoped. Certainly didn't look good when a lawsuit is filed over the voting machines......and then they malfunction and cause a delay in the results. Not a pretty day for the Iowa GOP.
RPI did good considering the top three contenders didn't participate. Imagine if in 1999, Bush, Forbes and Dole didn't show up.
Hey Anon..
1. The lawsuit was thrown out for 2 reasons. One this is a PARTY event..has no binding on who the nominee is. Two..there WERE paper ballots used here.
What happend is that one of the ballots got wet, cause the machine to malfunction when the votes were tabulated.
So, Story County Auditor Mossman and State Auditor Vaudt did the correct action...they hand counted the votes from the malfunctioning machine to ensure the numbers matched..which they did...and life goes on.
AS for the 14,000 who voted....sure there were only 14000 voting..but you missed out that RPI sold 26,000 tickets...plus auctioning off the tent areas around the Iowa State Center. Don't worry..RPI made plenty of $$$.
However, I would suggest holding the next straw poll in late Sept/early Oct...to avoid having 100 degree heat! That's why you had the "lower" turnout..
Not to mention three out of four in the top tier didn't show. Had Bush, Forbes and Dole (top 3 last time) not shown last time in 1999, turnout would've been low then too.
Really you have done great job,There are may person searching about that now they will find enough resources by your post.I like this blog..
