Fox News Sunday (Fox)-Chris Wallace (son of Godzilla) will have a major show this Sunday for Republicans. First, Fox’s “Choosing the President” series will feature former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. The Real Sporer has always thought Gov. Huckabee was the lightest dark horse in our field. The “debates” haven’t done anything but solidify that opinion. I may have more of a preview on this one after lunch today. Every Republican should take a hard look at Huckabee before making a final choice at the Straw Poll or the Caucuses.
Fox will also feature a very serious intra-mural discussion of the immigration compromise bill between Arlen Specter and Kay Bailey Hutchison. While Nancy Pelosi has promised that the bill is DOA in the House it still presents a huge issue for us Republicans. There clearly is no consensus as to best means of addressing the immigration issue. We need to be informed and thoughtful about resolving this issue, and resolving it without intra-party rancor that delivers the White House and Congress to the Democrats. Just remember, whatever you don’t like about the way some Republicans feel about immigration, there is nothing about the Democrats’ immigration plans that you can live with. (♥♥♥♥)
This Week (ABC)-Former Clinton advisor George Stephanopoulos is featuring “Immigration Nation” as the primary topic. Needless to say, there weren’t a lot Stephanopoulos’ on the Mayflower so it actually is a good topic for George. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez will represent the President and the Administration’s view of the immigration compromise. Listen carefully to Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) and you will get an idea of what the Democrats would do if left unchecked. There’s a word for it-BALKANIZATION.
Gov. Jim Gilmore is also appearing. As the readers know I think Gilmore is among the sharpest of our candidates. He shares much in common with Bill Richardson of New Mexico, great resume`; sharp presentation; and a strange lack of celebrity in the celebritized world of the New Millennium. Hopefully Gov. Gilmore will break out Rudy McRombee this week. If so, George will finally have a highlight.
George will again feature a four person panel comprised entirely of opponents of the President. Fair and balanced. (♥♥½)
Face the Nation (CBS)-Carl Levin (D-Mich) and Jeff Sessions (R-Ala) will debate immigration. There appears to be a topical theme tomorrow. Neither of these guys is the flashiest member of their caucus. Every Republican who leaves the Specter/Hutchison debate angrgy with Republicans just tune in and listen to Levin describe the Balkanization that he and the other Democrat liberals have in mind and, much like putting your hand in the goo that used to be your best friend’s face, you’ll know what you have to do. Late Edition (CNN)-As always, a cast of thousands. Speaking of Patton, Duncan Hunter headlines tomorrow’s episode of feeding the Wolf. It’s a good thing, Charlie Rangel and Joe Biden will suck the reason from the conversation. It’ll be interesting to see if Biden addresses the potential downside of his plan to divide Iraq. After all wouldn’t a regional war between Turkey, Iran and Saudia Arabia be better for all those Iraqi civilians that John Kerry and Rosie O’Donnell think the American warriors are terrorizing.
I’ll give Biden this; when the time came to vote to fund those warriors he manned it up and vote “aye”. That vote is lot more than can be said of the pandering duo of M. Hussein Obama and Evita. (♥♥½)
Meet the Press (NBC)-Venerable Democrat host Tim Russert will devote the entire hour to New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson as part of the “Meet the Candidate” series. Tomorrow’s Meet the Press may be interesting than the typical Dem on Dem love fest. Richardson is by far the smartest and most prepared Democrat in the race. He was a popular congressman and has been a pretty decent governor. We need to keep an eye on this guy; he lacks the looks and celebrity to get the nomination but he’s going to have a role in public life and I suspect, if we win Richardson takes another stab in ’12 or maybe ’16. (♥♥)

It's funny you refer to Tim Russert as "venerable Democrat host."
Maybe you missed the part of the Libby trial when an aide to Cheney recommended the VP go on MTP because it was such friendly territory--a place where the VP could "control the message."
I see you're warming up to Pelosi. She promises to kill the immigration bill you oppose and she allowed that blank check to go to a vote even tho she opposed it. What more could you want? I, on the other hand, am very disappointed in her failure to stop the counterproductive war.
Yes, I can why, having now lost Saddam, you'd find the idea of having either a Baathist dictatorship, an Iranian client state with a similar government or a completely failed state like Somalia used to be before the Ethiopians cleaned out the bad guys would be "counterproductive" to the United States.
Surrender at any price, eh?
