Dems on Display

Wolf just blew the whistle on the Democrats' Second Debate. This should be most interesting.

OMG-Dennis Kucinich looks more like Golem than ever before.

When asked if actual success is evidence of success in stopping terror, in a word, BHO opens with the claim that actually avoiding terror attacks is evidence of the world becoming more dangerous.

I just remembered that we've passed through the looking glass.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Evita is so much more butch than the Breck Girl and more realistic right off the bat. She at least pays lip service to the concept that we are at war with global terror.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

BHO again astounds with parallel reality. A vote to defund the troops is an expression of support.

EVery dead beat Dad in America will echo that logic.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

BHO speaks of his opposition to the war when it was initially authorized by Congress.

Did the Illinois State Senate have some role in authorizing military action by the United States.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

The criticisms of Iraq are silly. Dodd, Iraq has made us less safe.

No attacks since 9.11.
Fewer Islamofacsist regimes since the Iraq invasion.
More friendly nations in Europe as we now have friendly governments who support American policy in France and Germany.
More and better bases.
More and better intellegence.
Reduced support for the Palestinian terrorist.

So the evidence of a reduction safety is.................

Joe Biden just said the Iraq war emboldend the "enemy".

Where?

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

John Edwards was on the intellegence committee and didn't read the NIE?

At least Evita knew to man up and say she was fully informed at the time of their vote.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

God, I hope the black helicopters don't get this Graval guy? He is making Ron Paul look like FDR.

Since everyone wants to get out of Iraq shouldn't the question be what will happen when we leave.

For example, what does the party of appeasment think that al qaeda in iraq will do when we leave. I suppose become an ecumenical and egalitarian social club I suppose.

Supposition is all we have to go by, the Ds just gloss over the day after like it will never come.

......... and now we're on to immigration so I guess we're not going to hear about the Ds answer to the question of what will happen after we pull out.

Anonymous said...

Dem's offered no vision of how to fix the "political problem" that we're facing in Iraq.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Now we're on to the Immigration Bill.

Richardson-for it.
Biden-for it. (but not the fence for which he voted)
BHO-recognizes that Americans won't support pathway to legalizataion without belief in enforcement. That sounds like he might not support the bill.

Mike Gravel actually stood up for English as the official language for our government.

Hillary feels ballots should be printed in Spanish in New York City.

So long for assimilation.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

.... but then BHO drops back into the silliness of pandering on english only.

EVita drops into an even sillier zone-english as the official language would prohibit printing ballots in English. Even the applause Graval got should tell the Ds how much Americans support English as the official language.

Dodd even found a way to work bigger government into Balkanization. More language training.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

BUt think of the fraud that could be successfully executed with the use of multi-lingual ballots.

Universal health care is "back on the national stage" according to Clinton.

$120 billion will cover every American according to Clinton. Yet other priorities such as "climate change" that dems want will make raising taxes inevitable.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Here's a thought, specifically which of the "Bush tax cuts"-that are providing the resilent prosperity that has weathered a recession, war and natural disasters, they would allow to die.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

47 million have no health care coverage?

that's an interesting stat, probably twice as large as the real number.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

... .and of course, they can always get free care.

Gays in Military a Mistake?

Clinton - Don't ask, don't tell implemented in a bad way. Transitional law. Wants open policy and covered under UCMJ.

Richardson - Want's national hate crime law. Allow unions and get rid of don't ask, don't tell.

All other candidates want to get rid of the current policy and allow gays to serve.

The actual policy is don't ask, don't tell, don't pursue.

Anonymous said...

Richardson believes Clinton is the solution for the Middle East peace process.

Did he not try that before?

Anonymous said...

Bush should be in the debate. He has done his best to deliver what Democrats promise.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Did Bill's brilliant foreign policy prevent the first WTC attack?

Teh Saudi barracks bombing?

The embassy bombings?

The Cole bombing?

Did it deescalate the Isreali/Palestian conflict?

Did it stop the genocide in Rwanda?

Did is even slow Chinese militarization?

Did it remove the Taliban from power in Afghanistan?

Did it get Al Qaeda and its affiliates from power in Somlia?

Did it prevent the PRK from developing nukes, when we still could have?

Did it persuade the Libyans to abandon their WMD program?

Did it get the Syrians out of Lebanon?

Did it break up the terror funding networks?

Anyone? Anyone?

Richardson (former energy sec) believes oil companies are not price gouging.

Edwards/Biden want Justice Department investigation into oil companies for price gouging.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

I wonder how the Teamsters and the UAW feel about their chances for continuing employment as mandating higher mileage standards further hurts the ailing domestic auto industry?

Anonymous said...

Biden is continuing his impressive performance at last night's speech during the Hall of Fame Dinner in Cedar Rapids last night.

Anonymous said...

First half results:

Winner: Edwards - Going on the attack, but being a little wimpy about it. He's really trying to win.

Loser: Obama - Not good on his feet. Too wordy and not connecting any blows.

On the bench: Kucinich - not getting much playing time. But received great audience responses.

Denny wants to rebuild the military by cutting the defense budget by at least 25%.

It's the worst time in history to revert back to a Carter / Clinton foreign policy agenda.

Anonymous said...

where is yoda?

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

I agree, Biden sounds the best thus far.

How will they rebuild the military is the first question.

Kucinich-we must end the occupation of Iraq. Kucinich might be the dumbest person to ever seek the White HOuse-he wants to rebuild the military by cutting military spending by 25%.

BHO says the opposite, increase the size of the military. Panders a little by talking about health care.

Dodd dissembles and panders, applaud the work being done, except of course when they ridicule or lie about the many victories we win in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere. Needless to say, he completely dodges the question. Almost babble.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Dodd, suggests cutting the F-22. He apparently feels that our massive air power superiority is just too damn unfair. Egalitariansim that's the spirit.

Anonymous said...

Dodd mentioned looking at cutting the F-22 tonight.

Last year he urged President Bush not to cut the program saying it would be “ill-advised and untimely given the operational shortfalls facing our military and the threats facing our nation" to cut the F-22.

Liberal presidential politics seemed to change his opinion.

Link that states Dodd's position from last year.

Evita wants to talk to the Iranians about nukes. We just had our first bilateral sit down with the Iranians and they responded by taking American hostages and telling the UN that they won't stand down their nuclear program.

So Evita, what would you and Bubba tell them to persuade the Iranians to stand down?

By the way, W has used Bill Richardson and ex Presidents Clinton and Bush as diplomats so Evita's claim is sort of silly.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Biden says the Iranians are 10 years away from a nuke. I don't think any intellegence service in the world believes the time frame is distant.

Also, if we abandon the policy of regime change then I assume the alternative is ambivalence to the most consistently anti-American regime on this earth since 1979.

I didn't bother watching. I throw too much shit at the television when the Republicans are on, much less the Democrats.

Did the Communist News Network ask about Senatewhore John McQuisling's amnesty proposal?

Anonymous said...

Hillary thinks "high level US presidential envoys" are the answer for Pakistan. Yet, the administration is so inept in foreign policy? Many double standards coming from Clinton tonight.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Kucinich would not kill UBL, he would hold him for trial in an international tribunal.

What a softball to BHO. Even a wild left winger like BHO knows that we must kill bin Laden when we get the chance.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Yes, having ridiculed W sending the Vice President and the Secretary of State as envoys, so I guess that just leaves the President.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

So Richardson chimes in on Darfur where W used him as a high level envoy (take that Hilary).

Then Richardson ruins it all by threatening to boycott the Olympics if the Chinese won't help. How'd that work for Jimmah Cartah in 1980?

Adn, of course, the usual litany of other countries whose help we need without offering idea one about how they would obtain taht peace.

Democrat's do not understand the natural progression of war. A fighting force will eventually have to occupy the territory to secure it and make it stable. Especially in a country like Iraq with major religious and cultural sects.

You cannot simply pick-up and leave because the citizens of this territory don't want us around. There is a job that needs to be done.

Every commander-in-chief should understand the complexities of war.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

EDwards is even more divorced from reality.

We've lost our moral leadership because of AIDS? Bush has done more than any President in history on African AIDS, and any other country.

We've lost our moral leadership becuase of genocide-like the one occuring in Kurdistan before the US invasion or the one in Rwanda, the last time teh Dems ran our foreign policy.

Anonymous said...

No fly zones are not the answer to any regional conflicts. They are just a small part of the solution.

Anonymous said...

Edwards believes we should solve every problem in the world. Except for Iraq, we should just leave and cure the AIDS problem in Africa.

Anonymous said...

Obama talks about gas prices hitting families. The federal gas tax is close to 19 cents per gallon. He could start by doing something other than attacking the Bush tax cuts.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Finally, a definition of rich is requested.

BHO-$250K family income for his version of socialized medicine and he would return to the Clinton era tax structure but before or after the Dems lost congress.

Edwards says $200K for his health care plan, 'cause "he doesn't know hwat rich is"-uh, I think he does.

A question just came from a person who owns a hair salon. I was wondering if he was asking for John Edwards business!!!

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Yes, Gov. Richardson, and the Clinton administration also projected deficits into the mid 21st Century before we took Congress in 94.

Teh Clinton administratino also left the corporate scandals, teh stock market spiralling down and an overall recession.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Not sufficiently expensive for John, he shares hair secrets with Brit, Paris and Lindsay.

Anonymous said...

Richardson says that he is a pro-growth democrat.

Aren't they all pro-growth for the size of government?

New Mexico's government has grown 6.0% per year since 1992-2004 (Rio Grande Foundation).

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Hillary, did you have 9.11, WW3, and the two worst natural disasters in history?

It espcially sickens me becuase they Clintons didn't even send up a complete budget the last two years of their administration.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Joe, we don't need public financing of elections to solve earmarks, we need less governmetn involvement in the economy.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

Its good to know that BHO and Evita's first act would be unconditional surrender in Iraq.

The Deplorable Old Bulldog said...

I think that I had a more sophisticated and realistic world view than Dennis Kucinich when I was in 7th grade.

"We are the world"

Top priorities in first 100 days:

Clinton (Send troops home)
Obama (Health Care)
Richardson (Education)
Biden (End war Iraq, diffuse Iran, Korea)
Kucinich (Ending war forever, host of liberal ideas)
Gravel (End war)
Dodd (Restore constitutional rights, probably referring to patriot act)

Compared to the last GOP debate, this next election looks like a landslide of Blue. Spin it whatever way you want to - the Iraq war and GW Bush is the millstone that none of the Repubs can get rid of.

Cedar Waxwing said...

If Democrats in this country run on anti-Bush platform in 08..they're potentially setting themselves up for failure. Bush can't run again..he's done on January 20th, 2009. Cheney's not running..nor Condi..or Rumsfeld..or whoemver the Democrat enemy of the day is

Run against the candidate who's actually RUNNING for President. People are going to tire very quickly of the Presidential campaign in general. We are likely going to know who our nominees are the day after Tsunami Tuesday in February.

Average people will be absolutely sick on both sides of hearing political ads about how this person is evil incarnate..and how this person is blah blah blah.
