.......... and finally, an example of liberal intellectual curiosity from our northern neighbor.

We close with this selection of the intelligent design debate, Canadian style from our Canadian counterparts at Small Dead Animals.

Its good to know that the neo-Stalinist Canadian liberal is as intolerant as their neo-Stalinist American counterparts. So much for free and non-judgmental debate on campus.

Five Democrats voted against the Woodstock provision. So did old-school GOP members of the Appropriations Committee who had on prior occasions voted against conservative criticism of senators' earmarks.

"With all the pressing needs facing our country today, from entitlement reform to children's health care to the war in Iraq, the idea that the federal government should fund a museum that celebrates a 38-year-old concert is simply absurd," Kyl said.

It's the type of parochial project that's easy to make fun of. Conservatives call it a hippie museum and a taxpayer-funded LSD flashback.

Clinton, whose 60th birthday is Friday, said she’s well aware that both Republican and Democratic opponents have zeroed in on her with their criticism.

“I have been reminded by some of my friends,” she said, “that when you get to be my age having so many men pay attention to you is kind of flattering.”

Clinton doesn’t mention her husband, former President Bill Clinton, in every speech, but she gave him a shout-out Saturday when she was asked about global warming. She said he’s been “walking around our house with compact fluorescent bulbs and putting them in everywhere.”

Gordon Fischer is on the job and correctly calling for more investigation on Hillary08gate.

Nice to see at least one democrat, and an influential one at that, understanding that this kind of corruption can't be tolerated in either party.

Clinton Scandals?
Iowa True Blue By admin on 10/19/2007 12:33 PM

When I relaunched this blog, I set four goals. The second goal was to document the ways Big Money negatively influences politics and politicians. Unfortunately, we're getting an ugly lesson in campaign finance the last couple days. Sadly, the lesson comes from one of our own -- Senator Hillary Clinton. I hate to talk about it, but as a party the Dems absolutely must confront this. You know the Republicans certainly will.

First, from the LA Times: "The candidate's [HRC's] unparalleled fundraising success relies largely on the least-affluent residents of New York's Chinatown -- some of whom can't be tracked down."

Second, from The Nation, an unflattering (to say the least!) expose of the HRC fundraising operation.

Neither the LA Times nor The Nation can be written off as mere Clinton haters, or as a vast right wing conspiracy. The charges are extremely serious. Iowa Dems, what should we do?

"So much for free and non-judgmental debate on campus."

Be nice if the GOP actually believed in and practiced "free and non-judgmental debate" in its nominating process. What would the Stalinist liberal Canadians says about the party of Lincoln keeping candidates whose views it disapproves off its straw polls?

Spent the day meeting voters and distributing literature in 3 very Republican small towns. The voters expressed a plague on both their houses about the major candidates of both parties. Most frequently heard concern was how increasingly hard it is to make ends.

"Rendition" starring Meryl Streep should not be missed.

The 5,775-vote total included thousands of people who had voted online, and might have become eligible by paying as little as $1 to join FRC Action, the legislative action arm of the Family Research Council.

Although the audience of evangelicals at the Washington Hilton was not told about the alternate count, the crowd favorite by a mile among the 952 attendees who voted in person was former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

He took 51 percent of the in-person votes, compared to just 10 percent for the former Massachusetts governor.

Huckabee, who got whistles and standing ovations when he spoke to the crowd Saturday morning, took a clear shot at Romney when he said: “It’s important that a person doesn’t have more positions on issues than Elvis had waist sizes.”

Romney’s campaign had recognized the voting loophole ahead of time and sent a mass e-mail Thursday alerting social conservatives that the FRC was “allowing people to vote whether or not they attend the conference.”

The e-mail continued:

“Let me tell you how simple this is! Just go to www.frcaction.org and click on the large banner 'Participate in the 2008 American Values Straw Poll.' "

This led one rival to suggest the headline, “Romney Win$ Straw Poll.”

The vote was open to people online and in that sense, Romney won with 1595 votes compared to Mike Huckabee’s 1565 votes.

It was just a 30 vote difference. But for the people that actually voted onsite, it was no contest.

Huckabee won 488 votes to Romney’s second place 99. That’s called a thumpin’.

FROM ZOGBY: The online survey of 9,718 likely voters nationwide showed that 50% said Clinton would never get their presidential vote.

This is up from 46% who said they could never vote for Clinton in a Zogby International telephone survey conducted in early March.

Older voters are most resistant to Clinton—59% of those age 65 and older said they would never vote for the New York senator,

At the other end of the scale, Republican Mike Huckabee and Democrats Bill Richardson and Barack Obama faired best, as they were least objectionable to likely voters.

Richardson was forever objectionable as President to 34%, while 35% said they could never vote for Huckabee and 37% said they would never cast a presidential ballot for Obama, the survey showed.

The Zogby Interactive poll, conducted Oct. 11-15, 2007, included 9,718 likely voters nationwide and carries a margin of error of +/- 1.0 percentage point.

Opposition to Clinton among Democratic and Republican women revealed mirror opposite attitudes, the Zogby Interactive survey showed.

While 83% of Republican women said they would never vote for her, just 17% said they could possibly cast a ballot for her.

Among Democratic women, just 17% said they would never vote for Hillary, while 83% said they could.

Why the fuck wasn't Quack Klein on the FRC strawpoll? This is why the party is broken because it won't let it's people hear the Quackman. They're too afraid to hear the truth of the rEVOLution.

Quack Klein '08.

Klein's results don't show up because all the people that wrote in his name (19 hundred at last count) were immediately arrested and ejaculated off the place by private security (read as Gestapo) hired by the Kremlin on the Des Moines River to further suppress this hero of the common man, Mark Klein (M.D. by Jesus!), and all his talk of "freedom". It's time to pour into the streets and show our support for this modern prophet, Mark Klein, now more than ever!
