Its good to be the Boss…………

…………. in Hazzard County, Iowa. Long time Supervisor John Mauro received even more insider benefit from Des Moines’ Planning and Zoning Commission.

After having already received over $4.6 million dollars from we, the taxpayers, the Boss apparently planned poorly and required a new site, more time and rezoning to take full advantage of the already awarded public largesse. Would anyone care to wager a dime on the results of next Monday’s City Council vote on the Boss’ rezoning request?

Who said being the Boss is tough?

Mr Clinton has played a key role in tapping new wealth from the IT sector as a source of philanthropic funds.

At last week's Clinton Global Initiative event in New York, he said, individuals, corporations and world leaders pledged at least $10bn, and possibly twice that.

“Bush has been a perfect example of cronyism, because Blackwater has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to Republicans and to President Bush. I also saw this morning that Sen. Clinton’s primary adviser, Mark Penn, who is like her Karl Rove — his firm is representing Blackwater,” former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards said in Iowa Friday.

“I think it is important for Iowa caucus-goers to understand the choices they have in this election. And it is the reason I continue to say we don’t want to replace a group of corporate Republicans with a group of corporate Democrats.”
