Essential Estrogen broke a story this morning about Sen. Larry McKibben’s recognition of the impact of last Saturday’s convention votes on SILO. Sen. McKibben said:
"We aren't here just to put a rubber stamp on what's passed by the House," McKibben told those in chamber this morning. "We don't have to pass this just because it has been a bipartisan effort. It's a bipartisan tax."
Hopefully, even as we publish these words, the Senate is holding the line on SILO-representing the will of the Republican base.

SILO is headed to the gov. 5 republicans voted w/ the democrats.
Soooo, is RPI (or RIP?) going to cut off party funds for the 5 republicrats who support the tax hikes?
I think RPI should be walking away from them. I think we stated our views loud and clear at the district conventions...ALL five districts voted for the same resolution.
They're RINOs...along with all those Rs in the House who voted with them. Thanks folks for taking away my rights as an Iowan and a parent. You still haven't taken away my voting rights to YOUR office, so watch out.
The five are realists who see that there will be more rural districts closing down if they have to depend on their local economy.
The RINO label also applies to the GOpers who live in a fantasy land where costs never go up for governments and that their needs should be met while still getting their tax abatements.
You GOPers sure are into retribution and punishment. No wonder the Iowa GOp hasn't had a new idea since Governor Ray's era
Lundby? Is that you?
