It’s beginning to look a lot like Chicago.

Have we seen Democrats using the police as goon squads to suppress speech? Hell yes, we’ve seen that. Chicago, 1968.

Here it comes again. An
ABC reporter was roughed up on the public streets, for shooting footage from a public street.

Freaks in the streets, internecine party warfare and a Democrat controlled police force used to crack down on reporters: they are recreating 1968.

Good.

Sporer,

Following your recent theme here, I gather you must have been absolutely outraged by the W campaign events where noncommitted supporters were not allowed in. Or the W administration censoring and blocking in all sorts of ways any inconvenient truths coming from its different agencies. Are you somehow venting here the outrage you have been unable to express about your own party and beloved president?

Did you just hear Bill C. rip the R's real good? His praise of Obama may not have been all genuine, but he sure pointed out the outrageous nature of the last 8 years well. No thanks to 4 more years of the same priorities is right!

Sporer seems obsessed with 1968. I thought culture warriors like him despised the 1960s, but he wants to bring them back.

Me, too. "Power to the People!"

No, we Republicans just want to bring them back for the Democrats. Too bad the radicals are wimping out in Denver.

Are you saying you'd like to see another police riot like the one in Chicago in 1968? How gracious of you! not to mention How authoritarian of you!

The greatest generation that ever lived, raised the most spoiled and self-centered generation - the 60s hippies and haters. The 60's generation raised the weak willed and whiney 80's "me" generation.

It is the weaker and whinier 80's generation that seeks to recreate 1968 in homage to their self-centered parents who sought to destroy everything good about America and what their self-less and patriotic America loving grandparents fought for with their lives.

Luckily, the wacked out left-wing fringe represented by the echo generation of the liberal democrat party is just an embarrasing whisper of folks.

They don't even know what they are protesting about, but I guess nostalgia for 1968 is just too overwhelming for them and their aging hippy parents.

For the libs to catterwall about the right wing, who's only "extreme" issue to save babies lives, is ridiculous when you see their very extreme antics as Ted has quite accurately described.

Code Pink??? Hahahahaha, how ridiculous.

Getting back to the present convention in Denver, what did you all think of Biden's speech? or Kerry's? or Bill Clinton's?

Sporer must not want to take notice of the actual events on the convention floor.

Take Biden, for example. He pointed out the many occasions on which "John McCain is wrong---Barack Obama is right."

Bill lied and lied and lied and lied some more - and LOTS of people died....to cover up his crimes.

Anonymous said...

how do you feel about Bidens hair plugs?

how do you feel about Biden's plaigerism that derailed his first bid for president?

I guess you don't know anything about that though. It's history. As you've stated before, you know nothing of history.

Did you ever wonder why Ann Coulter named her #1 NY Times Bestselling book "If liberals had any brains, they'd be republicans"?

Because libs don't know history and agressively seek to avoid learning real facts.

They like the color green better than blue, so goddammit, the sky will be green.

It makes them "feel" so much better.

Anonymous said...

Kerry lied and the swiftboaters lived to tell the truth.

The truth derailed Kerry. I care not what he has to say about anything.

How many platitudes did he use? Did he "report for duty"?

Did he try to convince you he is a war hero again, or has he given up on that lie?

Did he tell you that he's smarter than Bush even though factual actual documentation shows just the opposite?

Did he reveal how many houses his wife owns that she lets him live in for free? Is it more than the number that McCain's wife owns?

Did he tell you he campaigned in all 57 states for Obama?

What lies did he tell last night? He's usually good for a few whoppers.

Anonymous said...

I forgot I was talking to a liberal who likely doesn't know what plaigerism means. I should have used the 2 syllable word rather than the 4 syllable word.

Plaigerism = lying

So, you had Biden, Kerry and Clinton, all publicly convicted liars all on stage together.

How nice. Where was Dan Rather to report on that event?

Spotlight - did you realize those are democrat cops being led by a democrat mayor beating up on democrats?

What a lovely little playgroup.

Apparently no one here is open minded enough to even watch the speeches, so they can't comment on them.

They sure can throw mud though. That's all they've got.

When your own party has nothing to offer, just spend all your time attacking the other party. Hey, it worked in 2004!

Are you saying you intend to watch Bush's speech at our convention next week? McCains?

What if...horrors....the man you most fear in all of life, Karl Rove, shows up? Will you run shrieking in fear of your life that he might use a "karlrovian" tactic on your sensibilities?

Really?

I look forward to your report.

By the way, you never responded about Biden's girlish vanity.

Anonymous said...

I wouldn't have "watched" the speeches. I would have "listened" to the speeches..err, I mean, manifestos to socialism.

Kerry is yesterday, Biden is yesterday, Clinton is soooooo yesterday.

So much for "turning the page" and "change".

It's nothing but same ole same ole. Been there, done that.

Anonymous said...

The voters saw Kerry and rejected him. The voters saw Biden and rejected him - twice. The voters got sick and tired of Clinton and rejected Gore. The voters, still sick and tired of the Clintons, rejected Shillary.

You think this is a winning team? It worked so well in 2004, why not do it again?

Anonymous said...

Alright, I give up. Keep your minds closed, if it's so necessary for your loyalty.

Let's get down to brass tacks: How many houses do YOU own? What does honor mean to you?

Do you ever wonder why, if we have nothing but losers and failed political strategies, there is all this whining and complaining going on? You would think these idiots would be applauding our efforts and pushing us to continue them.

Notice too, that no one is suggesting that McCain will win because he has the support of Dumbya.

Republicans do not understand that sexism and racism is their problem and if they do not vote for Senator Obama, it really does mean they are racist. Obama is a much better man than McCain and he is so much smarter too. I do not care if he had associations with people who hate our government because most of my friends still hate the government. We make wars against peace loving countries and impose our evil will with impunity. Ward Churchill was right and so was Rosie about the conspiracy that George Bush pulled over our heads. Most of all, I admire Art because I know he believes in people like me and serves as our mouthpiece when we are too scared to expose ourselves. Art boldly proclaims the truth and dispels Republican propaganda. I hope I can meet him someday as I am sure he is simply magnificent. If he is not gay, I hope he tries but if not, we appreciate him anyway.

Wow - Obama's campaign is trying to shut down free speech all over the place.

Just what is he afraid we are going to find out about him?

Here's today's latest example of democrats engaging in book burning.

"Posted August 28, 2008 12:32 PM"

by John McCormick and Steve Schmadeke, updated

DENVER -- Sen. Barack Obama's campaign organized its supporters Wednesday night to confront Tribune-owned WGN-AM in Chicago for having a critic of the Illinois Democrat on its air.

"WGN radio is giving right-wing hatchet man Stanley Kurtz a forum to air his baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smears," Obama's campaign wrote in an e-mail to supporters. "He's currently scheduled to spend a solid two-hour block from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. pushing lies, distortions, and manipulations about Barack and University of Illinois professor William Ayers."

Kurtz, a conservative writer, recently wrote an article for the National Review that looked at Obama's ties to Ayers, a former 1960s radical who later emerged as a school reform advocate in Chicago.

The magazine had been blocked in its initial attempts to obtain records from the University of Illinois at Chicago regarding a school reform initiative called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which Obama chaired and Ayers co-founded.

On Wednesday evening, Obama's campaign urged supporters to call the radio station to complain.

"Tell WGN that by providing Kurtz with airtime, they are legitimizing baseless attacks from a smear-merchant and lowering the standards of political discourse," the note said.

"It is absolutely unacceptable that WGN would give a slimy character assassin like Kurtz time for his divisive, destructive ranting on our public airwaves," the note continued. "At the very least, they should offer sane, honest rebuttal to every one of Kurtz's lies."

Zack Christenson, executive producer of "Extension 720 with Milt Rosenburg," said the response was strong.

"I would say this is the biggest response we've ever got from a campaign or a candidate," he said. "This is really unprecedented with the show, the way that people are flooding the calls and our email boxes."

Christenson said the Obama campaign was asked to have someone appear on the show and declined the request.

"He got into the files just yesterday, so we wanted to have him on to find out what he found. And, if at all possible, we wanted to get the Obama campaign, to get their side of the story," Christenson said. "That's why the uproar is kind of amazing, because we wanted the Obama campaign's take as well."

Obama's campaign has launched similar offensives against stations that have run campaign ads that it did not like.

This is "hope?" This is "change?" Shout down the opposition! Bully them! Make threats! How dare you question the great and powerful Obama!

Is this really what America wants? How does an action like this fill anyone with "hope?"

Martin Luther King suffered greatly as he lead his followers. He was beaten, thrown in jail, harrassed, everything imaginable. Not once did he complain or whine.

He continued to use his vast intellect and oratory skills to persuade others to come to his opinion and join his cause.

Never did he advocate shutting down free speech or oppressing those that disagreed with him or found him objectionable. Never, not once did he whine about his treatment. Not once.

He saw the mountaintop and committed to getting there. Free to be all he could be on his own resources.

I wonder if Boo Hoo Obama has read his letter from the Birmingham jail. I know Spotlight hasn't, because that would involve learning some history, but I recommend it as a primer on how not to whine under the most adverse of all conditions.

I never hear John McCain whine either and he had to live under even more adverse conditions while a POW. He didn't whine. I've never heard him whine.

Leaders don't whine. Leaders rely on their words to win. Losers rely on censorship and execution of the messengers.

How is Obama's current behavior of suppressing the opposition through any means any different than Vladimir Putins method of getting rid of critics?

It's shameful what he is doing. That is not american. It's amerikan.

I too think sporer talks to much about the 60's, 70's and 80's.

I see him relate to the time when Republicans where more conservative than they are today and where Democrats where a whole lot more liberal.

I cant say much about 68. Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr where killed by people with Republican leanings. A lot like what is happening now with Republican sponsered media channel "Fox News" insiting murders of Democrats and Liberals.

When the "so-called" conservative side of the fence is taking on an ultra militant fascist view point of everyone who disagrees with them, of course there is going to be some retaliation.

Anonymous said...

FOX news caused a murder? That is a lot of crap especially coming from a party loaded with commies like Ayers who DID freakin kill people.

The Dems suck and if they had the courage of their convictions they would move to marxist cuba.

A group of Republican state representatives say the governor needs to call a special legislative session to help the state recover.

The group suggested that the state cancel the construction of a new state office building in Des Moines and maximum-security prison in Fort Madison, along with a few other projects.

"The dollars get spent and we're set up in a situation where we're looking at across-the-board cuts or massive cuts to individual things or a tax increase and I don't think any are the right answer," said Republican Rep. Kraig Paulsen.

Democratic Rep. Kevin McCarthy responded: "People are hurting and crying out for help and we'll give them help.

But this is one of those situations that if you operate out of emotion and go in and throw out a bunch of money, it costs us 10 times that amount of federal help.

The bulk of this bill will be paid for by the federal government."

"I cant say much about 68. Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr where killed by people with Republican leanings."

What a bunch of crap that nonsense is. This must be spotlight talking cuz it's wrong on history again.

Kennedy was killed by a nutbag middle eastern guy who never has given a motive. what are you talking about "republican leanings".

we aren't sure who killed King. It still is a controvery. The Kings themselves don't believe the guy convicted was the guy at all. We don't know the motive there either, even if it was James Earl.

What planet are you living on?

What would those "leanings" be?

Did you know that republicans ended slavery, debolished democrat passed Jim Crowe laws, desegregated the schools, passed the civil rights amendment and also passed the amendment to the constitution that gave women the right to vote?

All of that over the objection of the Ku Klux Klanners like Democrat Sen. Robert Byrd - Grand Kleagle of the KKK.

Heck, abortion was all based on ridding the world of blacks and other "inferiors" according to Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger.

Who supports Planned Parenthood? Democrats. What has happened? Margarat is achieving her goal. The disproportionate number of black babies killed through abortion is astounding. It's so high that their population has actually decreased over all. It's shameful.

Clean up your own racist history before you make any suggestions that any republicans are racist. The facts just don't bear it out.

“Old southern Democrats took over my party.” – Lincoln Chafee.

Comparing today’s parties to their successors in the 1860’s or 1960’s is pretty pointless. As Chafee obviously knows, things have changed dramatically.
