The American Issues Project and Iowa's own Ed Failor hit 'em where it hurts.

Iowa’s own Ed Failor, Jr. is a director of the American Issues Project. American Issues is a political action committee formed by conservatives to counter the avalanche of radical PACs like MoveOn.org and Media Matters.

Unlike their radical counterparts, American Issues first ad appears much more fact based than the hate filled propaganda with which MoveOn and Media Matters infect the body politic.

Even better than the ad is the documentation that supports every word in it. We strongly urge every reader to click and read it for themselves. The facts are devastating. Obama has spent his entire adult life associating with the most radical elements of American political society. While not as radical as say William Ayres, Obama's history is that of a the most radical leftist that the Democrats ever nominated: the perfect marriage of the worst elements of LBJ's "Great Society" and the debacle of socialist income redistribution at home and appeasement and weakness abroad.

The larger point is the need for Republicans to educate the public about Obama and liberalism in general. EFJ is one of the few Iowa Republicans who understand this need.

The birth of a creative conservative 501(c) (3) is a great event. Now, let’s fight this battle all day, every day just like the liberals in academia, the large corporate and government bureaucracies, organized labor and the mainstream media do.

The leadership of the Iowa delegation to the RNC convention should think about the actions you have taken today.

Between now and November 4th we elect Republicans.

On the 5th of November you and your supporters will be hung in the court of public opinion like the traitorous bastards you are.

“Obama has spent his entire adult life associating with the most radical elements of American political society.”

I wonder what the definition of a radical is for the $5 million per year crowd who own 5+ homes? You know, the W/McCain base. I suspect anyone who shows concern for us lowly people and is willing to challenge the status quo seems “radical” from that perspective.

Sporer, you must admit the McCain statement on his houses was golden. I have to agree with Yepsen on that. I just hope Obama’s crew is as good as the Rovean R strategists for milking such a gem.

Anonymous said...

Funny, the Democrats don't care how many homes the Kennedy's, John Kerry or Jay Rockefeller have but it's a problem for McCain.

As I remember, in 2004 the presidential candidate needed to have a combat ribbon, funny how that requirement has melted away.

Gee, do you think Obama will say "Barack Obama reporting for duty?"

Anonymous said...

John McCain is no conservative. The same people that are now smearing Obama where 8 years ago smearing McCain for being too liberal. Now that McCain has been rubber stamped by the Party big bosses, he is a true conservative huh?

Im old enough to remember the real McCain and he will not get my money in the fall nor my vote in November. Im voting for Bob Barr.

Great, then you can join the Perot voters who whined about Bill Clinton's supreme court nominees. The country can go down the toilet but you can content yourself that you "Sent them a message." I'm sure your grandchildren will understand when a few more Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s have taken the rest of their liberty away.

McCain is certainly not a conservative but he's a lot better than Obama. If you require 100% conformity to your opinions to really feel good about your vote you need to write your own name in.

Wow, somebody went nuts on the message blog and from this far away I haven't got any idea what specifically set him or her off.

This person may have issues beyond politics and one has to question whether mental instability is in play.

For one who passes himself off as an educated, intelligent man, you certainly exhibit no discerning tastes.

Are we forever to be subject to this dumbing down of political communication employing tactics like guilt by association?

Only in the peevish conservative mind would a rather obscure connection to a couple of college professors, admittedly with dubious backgrounds, be posited as a harbinger of dastardly goings on.

Typically, when you can't win on the issues attack the person.

Okay, first of all, I voted for Bush Sr. twice. John McCain will ruin our party. This is an unmistakable move to the left by the Republican party and please feel free to vote for anything with an "R" in front of it but I am a conservative first and a Republican second, and I am not alone.

Anonymous said...

What makes the house statement bad for McCain is that the R party has become completely obsessed about anything “elitist.” All liberals are out-of-touch elitist, and because of that they cannot be trusted to act in the interest of real patriotic Americans. Having so many homes that you cannot keep track of how many you own and having to “check with your staff” about the issue is pretty much as elitist and out-of-touch you can get. So much for the regular guy image, John. This was not just a slip of tongue. His statement tells a lot about him and where he is in life.

Im not sold on Obama, but than again John McCain isnt a conservative either.

To most voters, parties matter a lot less than what the party platform is.

Today the Republican Party took a firm stance on abortion. There is no doubt now that being Republican IS being PRO-LIFE.

If John McCain does not follow suit, he will be SOL on election day
