The process of bulldog (quite literally in this case) feeding distracted the Real Sporer from my usual absorption in all things political during the YouTube Democrat debate so I cannot pass an entirely detailed analysis of the event, but I saw enough to love the format.
While there were some pretty goofy characters asking questions most internet interrogators made their point and raised good issues in interesting ways. Certainly better than watching a real stooge like Chris Matthews or Keith Olbermann fawning for the candidates and public. I hope we use a similar format for future clashes.
The overall theme was, as always, division along every demographic line possible. Christian zealots are persecuting homosexuals. The poor are repressed because Americans can no longer earn a living wage. Women are frustrated by a paternalistic power structure. Of course, race is the overriding repression in American society, dominating all other issues confronting the body politic.
The Democrat candidates explain every problem America faces as the product of some insidious and unseen force. When asked about energy policy, every would be Democrat President implied that there isn’t a gas shortages because we haven’t built a refinery in 30 years, or because global demand has exponentially grown during that same time, or because the total tax burden on the production of gasoline has grown faster than the total retail price for almost every one of those thirty years, its because George W. Bush and Dick Cheney have been bribed by Texas and Arab oil barons to artificially raise the price. In fact, the conspiracy is so complete and total that no actual evidence of it can be found, its just an intuitive tautology to the Democrat mind.
That kind of conspiracy theory used to be the lunatic fringe, now its mainstream Democrat liturgy. What else would you expect from people who get their news from The Dailey Show and the Colbert` Report`?

ROTFLMAO--GOP Polk County chairman and Ann Coulter acolyte upset about divisive rhetoric coming from Democrats. The Republicans have used fear and hate speech to divide Americans since the "southern strategy."
desmoinesdem
desmoinesdem,
Perhaps you should ask Comrade Chavez for some ideas how to shut out competing ideas. Just a few days ago the lefty dictator liberals love to embrace stated he will "Respect Private Property" in conjunction with his new law to expel foreigners who call him a "Dictator." The foreigner in question was from Mexico so it's not only President Bush alarmed at his activities. Meanwhile, their own press is not able to say anything since he closed all media outlets who dared speak against him.
Perhaps this is why Republicans are alarmed when Pelosi and Clinton say certain media outlets must be regulated.
desmoinesdem...there was no southern strategy. you guys really never do your own history research do you? That is a myth that simply feeds your paranoid conspiratorial brains. After all, how on earth could a republican win? It must be some conspiracy.
Of course, you guys invented the paranoia of the vast right wing conspiracy. Remember Hillary blaming the semen stained dress on the vast right wing conspiracy rather than Bill just having a little impeachable fun with cigars and interns?
have you figured out yet where we hold our meetings?
Sporer,
You, the author of this blog, calling the D candidates hateful. Have you no sense of irony? Or have you completely lost the ability to evaluate your own rhetoric?
Have you ever noticed the how D's are the most depressing people? Everything is bad and getting worser. The United States is the most evil country in the world. We can't do anything right. In fact, we do everything wrong..on purpose to abuse others.
What kind of a sad, depressed person must you be to believe your whole world is a cesspool created to be a cesspool on purpose..because that's just how awful americans are.

The southern strategy is an urban myth, an almost complete fabrication of the liberal press and their academic sycophants.

and see what really happened in the south some 12 months or so before your birth.
The Democrats dominated the south. Kind of like the Clinton 92 election map where he won a few R states, Nixon picked off a few southern slave states, getting no more than 43.6% in any one of them, because the Dems divided the vote between their openly segregationist wing of George Wallace and the party regulars, a very nice Dem VP, HHH.
Moreover, Nixon ran as a liberal on civil rights, as he had been from his earliest Congressional career. Who do you think gave us bussing? Whatever his private musings, wasn't it Ike and Dick who sent the army in to enforce Brown v. Board?
I love the revisionist history coming from GOP grand old perverts.
Nixon claimed to be a liberal on civil rights? Maybe in regards to george Wallace at the time!
he also ran on the "secret plan to end te war" and we all know the result of that. Well the GOP jihadists wouldn't because they were either getting deferments for missionary work in France, doing cocaine or just plain being chicken shits.
Sporer talking about hate is the kettle calling the pot" African American"
I love the smell of fear from the GOP!
Even Yepsen calls you all losers and shake down artists!
