You don’t often have such a clear temporal juxtaposition of two archetypes as today’s Bush/Blair news conference (video) and yesterday’s Democrats' “leadership” presentation of their slouching road to defeat and appeasement-and, remember, this video is the Democrats trying their best to at least look responsible.
The President and the Prime Minister continually return to their common vision of a better world and the costs and benefits of getting there. Both repeatedly return to the fact based reality and avoid mere political pandering. Let no one forget that both the President and the Prime Minister handily won reelection after the Iraqi invasion and the left wing governments that opposed Bush/Blair in Germany, the Netherlands and France have fallen.
The Democrat leadership-and their running dogs in academia and the media-simply reiterate intellectually dishonest advocacy statements that, at best, make the existence of conflict the definition of defeat. The President and the Prime Minister obliterate the liberal complaints and once again remind the world both how far we’ve come in Iraq, how our presence is authorized by both the United Nations and the democratically elected Iraqi government and, most importantly, the consequences of defeat.
My God these men will be missed.

You are right Sporer, goddamnit, you're always right.
Landslide George barely eked out a victory over a weak Dem opponent.
Blair, for all of his socialism at home, has been a great ally. I am proud to have him on our side.
Bush is a turd.
By dealing with Kennedy on this "comprehensive immigration bill" he just lost me.
Maybe Blair can sneak into the US via Canada and we can give him a z-visa.
Don't miss my post: The End of The Republican Party!
Sporer, Are you doing satire now?
"how far we've come in Iraq" indeed.
Don't forget that John Petain, er, McCain was very helpful in this sellout.
If Bush is no longer willing to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution, he should be impeached.
Here's how far we've come in Iraq:
Less electricity than before our invasion.
Less clean water.
Less employment.
50,000 refugees flee the country every month--the world's worst refugee crises at this time.
Yes, the world was better off before Bush recklessly invaded a country he knew so little about.
