Stephanopoulos lead off with Democrat Presidential underdog Sen. Joe Biden (Dem.-Del.). Biden provided the usual mindless stream of liberal attacks on George W. Bush. It is strange to hear the Democrats strategy of only running against Bush. While I’m sure its comforting for the liberal primary voter to hear all of the reasons that Joe B. hates W the nearly complete absence of any prospective analysis is surely surprising, if not actually troubling to even a liberal.
Biden got the first twenty minutes and his only mention of anything that he would do is to have “more creative” diplomacy with Iran. Good sound bite but what the hell does it mean? What are Joe Bs bargaining chips. The Iranians desperately want the US out of Iraq and we know Joe B. and the other libs want to Iran and Al Qaeda that bargaining chip for free, but then what? Joe B. was silent.
Joe B. blamed President Bush for the trouble in Palestine. Myself, I’d say the Iranians arming Hamas to the teeth with modern weapons would be a pretty significant source of the current problem but you’ve gotta give Joe B. credit for sticking to the talking points-if everyone’s saying it you’ve got no plagiarism worries. The richest Biden moment was, while in a rage against W, whining about the failure to fully adopt and fund the 9.11 Commission recommendations. Joe, buddy, you guys control Congress now so…………..
Sen. Lindsey Graham was wired this morning. Graham continued to be critical of Congress for failing to adopt the comprehensive immigration bill, but without the name calling. Unlike Biden and most other Dems, Graham talks about the consequences of premature withdrawal from Iraq. Of course, real world consequences usually have little weight in the feel good world liberals inhabit so I guess Joe B.’s avoidance of “what next” on the campaign trail shouldn’t be that surprising after all.
The best description of the difference in world view came from George Will. Joe B. blames W, yes POTUS George W. Bush, for the turmoil in Palestine. George Will found another source, historically disastrous leadership. Will toured 20th Century Palestinian leadership and statecraft: supported Germany and Turkey in WW 1; Hitler in WW2, Stalin and the Soviets in the Cold War; and, Saddam Hussein in the Gulf War and posited yet a third cause of the current Palestinian civil war that had little to do with W or President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and those peace loving Iranian mullahs whose support of jihad is caused by the George W. Bush blocking their acquisition of nuclear weapons with which to nuke Israel.

Ahmadinejad is as crazy as Sporer. Sporer thinks Iran would really nuke Israel. Ahmadinejad thinks the US can be kicked out of the Security Council.
Those events are about equally likely to come true.
But Sporer always needs something to scare us with. Lucky for him, Ahmadinejad provides plenty to work with (for the gullible reader).
