GREAT VIDEO: Sen. Paul McKinley pins Leader Gronstal on homosexual marriage rights.

The video is amazing. Democrat Senate Majority Leader Gronstal certainly displays unambiguous and enthusiastic full support for homosexual marriage.

Sen. McKinley’s intellectual clarity, consistency and reason in support of the right of the people of Iowa to define the basic institution of their society with Sen. Gronstal’s emotive, childlike and counter-intuitive response.

LIFE IMATATES ART: NORTH KOREAN NUKES AND THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION

Joe Biden rarely says anything that betrays sober thought but even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Remember when Ol’ Joe said that Obama would be tested right away? Well, Kim Jong Il did.

Within three days of American President Barack Obama accepting blame for global proliferation while speaking to a French audience in Strasbourg and only minutes before President Obama was set to tell a Czech audience that the United States had to rid the world of nuclear weapons-which sounded a lot like unilateral disarmament, the North Koreans, with whom we have been at war since 1950 and is the world’s leader in proliferation of missiles and missile technology, tested a new stage ICBM.

Take a good hard look at the stage 3 range of the Taepodont 2 ICBM. To put it in geographic context, the North Koreans can now nuke Hawaii and, of course, our Allies in Taiwan, Japan and South Korea. More importantly, the missiles themselves or the technology to build them can end up in Teheran, as has so much other Korean and Chinese technology and equipment, and easily reach American interests and allies. Since the Iranians say that exterminating Israel is an ultimate objective of Iranian policy the new North Korean ICBMs with nuclear warheads provide the ideal delivery vehicle for that messianic genocidal message.

The Obama Administration has experience with North Korean appeasement. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s husband literally recalled the planes from striking Kim’s nuclear centers and then provided the lunatic regime in North Korea with the materials that Kim then sold to obtain the operating capital that funded his continuing nuclear program. We also sent international weapons inspectors, but we haven’t heard from them in some time.

It appears that President Obama’s approach, which was to permit the test without interference, disruption or deterrence, is to look stern on television while telling a foreign audience that it is, after all America’s fault because we have more nukes than anyone else. Based on this morning’s statements the President of the United States might get really angry and send Kim Jong Il a letter-maybe even a certified letter. The occupants of an incinerated Tel Aviv will surely be grateful that President Obama could look so stern on television and even in the midst of a budget crises bite the bullet and spend the extra postage for a certified letter.

WHY THEY WIN

Take a look at the following video.

There is a reason Labor/Socialist/Democrats win elections on the wings of fringe ideology. Although homosexual marriage is opposed by large majorities both in Iowa, and every other state the L/S/Ds were able to turn out nearly a thousand people to show public support for homosexual marriage.

The fringe groups that comprise the L/S/D are able to produce much more intense, and hence much more involved, activists. This intensity not only translates into licked envelopes and dialed phones in election years but also molds public opinion in the off years, not to mention municipal and school board elections.

We need to take a good hard look at the size and composition of the L/S/D celebration of homosexual marriage. The L/S/D and the liberal movement mainstream their fringe ideas by our silence, or functional silence, in response. The average, apolitical American, begins to accept L/S/D ideas because they see no one validating or affirming their intrinsic mistrust or disgust with the concepts the L/S/Ds advance. As a result the average, apolitical American then slowly surrenders their beliefs in the face of the crescendo of negation of those ideas that the public experiences from the mainstream media and academia.

Who stands for the average American family if not the Republican Party? The video is pretty strong evidence that the L/S/D continue to advance the interests of numerous but relatively small fringe groups like homosexuals, unions, terror suspects and prisoners and illegal aliens and the criminals that employ them. If we don’t elevate our game the majority will continue to be gripped and punished by the alliances of fringe politicians that make up the Democrat leadership.

So what are you going to do about it?

WHY TOMORROW’S HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE DECISION MAY NOT MATTER

The Iowa Supreme Court will issue its opinion in Varnum v. Brien tomorrow morning. Regardless of the outcome this decision may ultimately not matter.

Tomorrow's decision might not matter because it is a decision of law-and the law is impermanent. Whether the Court affirms Judge Hanson, which is likely because Judge Hanson is among Iowa’s smartest and most competent judges, or reverses that decision can be reversed by the actions of the people of Iowa.

The people of Iowa, generally assembled, pursuant to Section 1 of Article III of the existing Constitution of Iowa can take action to overrule some, and potentially all, actions of the Iowa Supreme Court. However the Supreme Court decides Varnum it is quite possible that the shifting political winds could empower the General Assembly to pass specific legislation that would reverse or nullify tomorrow’s decision. Since we know the current majority is committed to homosexual marriage rights as a hill upon which to die expecting any permanent resolution from this General Assembly is pointless.

In a small class of Constitutional cases the General Assembly cannot overrule the Supreme Court. In those classes of cases we the people, must act directly. The popular will is not any part of the judicial function. Lady Justice is blind because the Courts exist to find the law and not to implement popular policies. No one should expect tomorrow’s decision to arise from any perception of popular sentiment or even a shared belief in the social concept of marriage. Only an express amendment to our state Constitution can place a defining issue beyond the judicial function.

Even if the trial court is reversed in Varnum either the legislature or a different Supreme Court could, and probably will, revisit the issue. So if you, like us, believe that the definition of marriage as a monogamous unit composed of one man and one woman-a view that seems amply supported by social evolution in virtually every culture in every part of the globe over six thousand years of recorded history-is one of the social and moral premises of Western civilization then you cannot be willing to entrust such a premise to the one branch of government that we conservatives don’t think should be making such fundamental decisions.

The only permanent solution that will sustain the overwhelmingly shared concept of marriage is a Constitutional amendment that declares that the state of Iowa will neither issue same sex marriage licenses nor recognize such marriages of other states.

A GUMMY PROPOSITION

Since we now know that the Iowa Democrats have genuine physical fear of flying gum perhaps we could further “intimidate” them on April 15 by dumping Dubble Bubble into the Des Moines River, in the very shadow of the Golden Dome.

Let’s face it, after Barackanomics has eaten the meat off our bones and the Culver/Gronstal/Murphy triumvirate has filled its necrophagic appetite with the carrion of our remaining income tossing tea is a pretty spendy proposition.

So, we can demonstrate our Republican commitment to fiscal discipline by using the more economical, and apparently more dreadful, instrument of protest provided by the weaponization of chicle and sugar.

Moreover, limousine legacy liberals like Governor Culver love tea, especially funky smelling foreign tea. While the waste of such a cosmopolitan beverage might enrage the Labor/Socialist/Democrat leadership as an environmental crime, it surely won’t dispirit or dragoon them. Maybe a huge dose of Dubble Bubble will provide an emotional bludgeon of sufficient force to overawe the L/S/D.

Scared of the Republican grannys-the Democrats respond

And now, the big lies begin.

Undoubtedly embarrassed by the Murphy/McCarthy gang’s repugnant jack booting of the public from the public hearing on the Labor/Socialist/Democrat federal deductibility double taxation scheme, Democrat leaders are grasping at straws to validate it.

Governor Culver sought to justify the public expulsion by claiming that “[t]here were
public safety concerns” behind “Butcher” Murphy’s outrageous actions. No Democrat has been able to cite any factual occurrence that constituted a threat to the safety of any real human being not afflicted with panophobia, so the Governor’s statements seem a little unmanly for a former Virginia Tech football player. We wonder if the Big Lug coached his wrestlers to fear the mythical and deadly airborne missle threat of chewed gum.

Democrat State Chairman Mr. Erin Kiernan dipped even deeper in the shop worn bag of Democrat verbal intimidation with this self righteous epistle on courage and courtesy. “Iowans need their legislators to come together in civil debate,” Kiernan said. “Instead, Republicans offered only intimidation and hate; some even resorted to throwing objects at fellow citizens and even calling the Speaker of the House a Nazi. Their actions were disrespectful to the legislative process and the Iowans they claim to represent.” Judging from squeals of Kiernan’s hysterical response, hearing the vox populi’s expression of enthusiastic opposition to the L/S/D’s double taxation scheme must have been truly frightening to political leadership dedicated to the Castro/Chavez/Ortega model of “democracy”. Kiernan’s hypocrisy is also physically palpable given the slander, including the routine characterization as Nazis that liberals and L/S/D leadership employed for George W. Bush, George Bush, especially Ronald Reagan, and most other Republicans over the last thirty years.

Who felt intimidated? Why the handful of L/S/D’s who showed up to publicly support the unpopular double tax scheme, of course. Are they serious? “Intimidation” by less booing than produced by a controversial service call at Wimbledon isn’t exactly a sign of the courage of one’s convictions.

Unlike the typical Code Pink L/S/D gathering or the violent and destructive L/S/D protesters we witnessed last September at the RNC, last night saw no expression of personal hate, no threats of physical harm, no throwing of objects by anyone at anyone and nothing as raucous as a movie audience seeing Rocky for the first time.

Maybe now we know why L/S/D’s perceive bullying as such a major social issue.

Talk about misleading headlines………..

……..today’s DM Register coverage of last nights atrocious bullying by the Murphy/McCarthy gang takes a blue ribbon.

The Registers headlines screams, “
Unruly crowd evicted from tax plan hearing”. However, the crowd was anything but unruly.

No speakers were interrupted and no one in the audience, including and especially the legislators on the floor were prevented from hearing the uninterrupted speakers.

Maybe gross and partisan distortions like the foregoing headline in the hottest political story in years might explain the Register’s current lack of circulation and current financial condition.
